No, not in Australia. Mensa in the USA accepts some versions of these US scholastic tests, but they are not accepted for direct entry to Australian Mensa. There are other variations in the list of tests accepted by Mensa in different countries. The local Consultant Psychologists are responsible for validating and checking external evidence, and the tests accepted reflect the local field of expertise.

For foreign applications, we require a TOEFL score of 600. While your GRE score is important, we have no specific cut-off for GRE scores, and consider the GRE score to be just one part of your overall application. All applicants must submit a GRE score to be considered for fellowships or graduate teaching assistantships.

A high SAT score isn't the only thing college admission committees look at but it's worth noting that the Class of 2003 had a median score of 1260.

The average GRE scores for entering students is 600 to 675 on all three scales - the quantitative, verbal, and analytical sections. Students applying for admission in US Universities are from a large number of institutions not only from USA but also from countries all over the world. It is impossible for the admission authorities in US Universities to have reliable and up-to-date information on the relative merits of the certificates/degrees/marks/grades awarded by these diverse universities.

Our Student Records Department has PSAT, SAT and ACT test scores on the transcripts for some students, but only if the student provided us with his/her correct social security number and put the correct social security number on the test at the time the test was taken. Test scores are posted from a data file purchased from the testing company, so we can't be certain that all information is provided. We are under no requirement to maintain these scores, but do so as a convenience to the students.

ACT/SAT scores are used to place students into the appropriate levels of math, English, and reading courses. If ACT or SAT scores place students into courses below college-level, they may try to improve their course placement by taking the COMPASS test.

SAT or ACT scores are required for all applicants who graduated from high school after 1998. This requirement is waived for transfer students who have completed a minimum of 24 credits with a GPA of at least 2.0.

SAT scores are just one of many components of each student's application. Median SAT scores have recently been in the range of 1450-1470. If a candidate is below 1300, statistically speaking their probability of admission is lower, but they may have other outstanding qualities or accomplishments which outweigh the SAT. Conversely, a student who is above 1500 statistically has a better chance, but is certainly not assured of admission.

The chapters will take into account a participant's SAT/ACT scores along with her high school/college grades. If a Potential New Member's scores/grades are low, the chapters will have concern for the possibility of the Potential New Member experiencing difficulty in managing the time commitment required for New Member Education and a busy school schedule.

The GRE is a departmental requirement so check with your department to see if the GRE is required, and if so, what their requirements are. Scores are reported for 5 years after taking the test. What we are most interested in is the applicant's research potential. These scores are just one of many criteria we consider. There are no minimum scores. We much prefer students who have taken challenging advanced courses to those with top scores on rudimentary courses. There are many ways for applicants to demonstrate their research potential.

Every graduate school hopes to attract and select the most capable and most highly motivated students who are apt to become devoted to psychology as a profession and who will make major contributions to knowledge. GREs provide one independent and standardized method of assessing all candidates though the other areas of your application give further insight into who you are and how you might be expected to perform.

Each year, from approximately 250 completed applications, our admissions committee is limited to selecting a total M.A. and Ph.D. class of approximately 30 students. There are no specific undergraduate course requirements for admission to graduate study, but courses such as introductory psychology, statistics, and experimental psychology and/or research methods are preferred. For admission to the M.A.

We normally tell students they should be in the B+ range to be competitive. The admission process incorporates 1) overall GPA; 2) prerequisite GPA; and 3) GRE score. Each of these areas is weighted equally. Thereby, the applicant could remain in the competitive range if they were low in one area i.e. overall GPA and up in the other two. Historically, applicants with GRE scores below 900 are not competitive.

While you may choose to submit your scores only to the admitting institution (currently UNCG), we would prefer if you submitted your scores to both Graduate Schools. If at all possible, do not submit them to the individual departments. If you're not sure yet when you plan to apply, report them to both schools, just to be on the safe side.

You will see unofficial scores for the Verbal and Quantitative sections on your computer at the end of the test if you choose to record your scores. You will receive official scores that include the analytical writing section in the mail in 10-15 business days.

You must contact ETS and request that an official score report be sent to the UConn Health Center using institution code 3931. A departmental code is not required. Copies of score reports sent to students are NOT acceptable.
