Is your body piercing jewelry internally or externally threaded? What is the difference?

Frequently asked questions

Externally threaded body jewelry is stronger and the bars are solid. Internally threaded body jewelry does not have any threads on the outside of the bar. Because the threads are on the inside, it does less damage to a piercing when the jewelry is being changed. Each type of threading has its advantages.

A simple, medium-sized cross necklace is the perfect example: if you dress demurely, the cross will look innocent; but that same cross can look devilish if worn with a goth outfit; put it on a rapper, or a nun, or even Mr T, and it has a different look each time.
