Aqua Pure does not recommend for the brine tank to be elevated above the resin tank. During the brine and slow rinse cycles, the brine may be used too quickly because the elevation could cause less restriction on the injector, thus allowing all of the brine to be used too soon.

We recommend keeping the level of salt in the brine tank about half full for most households. Larger households can start out with more. Let the salt level drop down to the water level before adding more salt. Potassium should be kept as close to the water level as is practical to help prevent a “salt bridge”. Periodically you may experience a salt bridge. A salt bridge occurs when the salt forms a crust right at the water level in the brine tank.

Normally it is not necessary to clean the brine tank. In time dirt and silt can build up in the brine tank and if you choose you can clean it out. Let the salt level drop down very low. The night before you clean, manually regenerate the softener. Disconnect the brine line and dump out the old salt, (Do not dump the old salt anywhere near living plants). Reconnect the brine line, add about (3) gallons of water, and add the new salt.

We strive for timely service and are continually scheduling installations. However, installation times will vary depending on the time of year you request your tank installation. Summer installations can usually be scheduled within one or two business days while winter installations may take as long as three or four weeks. Flush the new tank by allowing water to flow through three or four pump cycles. If the taste continues, you should probably have the source water tested.

The amount of salt placed into the brine storage tank has nothing to do with the amount of salt used during the regeneration cycle. Water will dissolve and absorb salt only until it becomes saturated. A given amount of brine (salt saturated water) contains a specific amount of salt. Just make sure that there is at least enough salt for a regeneration cycle (12 lbs. in the case of our unit). Most homes are plumbed with ?" copper pipe (in larger custom homes might be 1").

Resin is nothing more than a 2 part mixture of liquids. But when combined at a ratio of 50% - 50% you get a hard durable product. Bowls and figurines just to name a few. They use a mold for products inwhich they pour the resin mixture into and it hardens very quickly. Almost destructable and yet light weight these make very nice fountain bowls & fignurines.Taken care of properly they will give you years of enjoyment.

Hatching baby brine is relatively easy. You can go the your local pet store and buy a hatching kit which includes brine shrimp eggs and a hatcher and follow the included instructions. Purchase a brine shrimp net if one is not included in the kit. You can also build a hatcher of your own out of a one-gallon jar with an airstone or as I do, use an inverted 3-liter bottle with air feeding from the narrow neck. I cut the bottom out of the bottle and save as a cover.

Yes, you can drink the brine in the pickler. In fact, I saw where a football team drinks pickle juice instead of the electrolytic “ades” in those fancy bottles. Farmers of old used to drink a little pickle juice coming out of the fields to rejuvenate themselves. However, discard the brine that may have seeped out of the pickler. (We add this caveat, because someone actually did drink the brine off the saucer!).

Latex examining gloves and the plastic baggies that are provided should always be used. If a small amount of the cured resin gets on your skin it will eventually (a few days) wear off. Sometimes using nail polish remover and/or soap will enhance the process.
