What is the difference between open-loop gain (A0) and closed-loop gain (AV)?

Analogue Electronics FAQ
If you take an operational amplifier (op-amp) and connect an input signal with no negative feedback, the output voltage will be A0 times larger than the difference between the input voltages. The control loop that might otherwise set the gain is not present (the feedback loop is open-circuit), hence the term open-loop gain. If you now add a negative feedback network, the voltage gain of the circuit will usually be reduced to a value dictated by the external components.

What is the audio signal voltage output and what is the advantage of high voltage output?

CarCPU ? - FAQ
High voltage audio output has become a great marketing point. However, one needs to look further than numbers to understand what the advantage and application is. With most common audio setups, the headunit supplies audio signal to the external amplifiers over RCA wires that may run over a long distance parallel to other wiring. The further wires have to run, the more signal degradation, as well as noise accumulation, will occur. See similar questions...

I have a large capital gain this year. What should I do?

Minneapolis, MN CPA / Thomas Lewis & Associates, P.A.
If you also have an investment on which you have an accumulated loss, it may be advantageous to sell it prior to year-end. Capital losses are deductible up to the amount of your capital gains plus $3,000. If you are planning on selling an investment on which you have an accumulated gain, it may be best to wait until after the end of the year to defer payment of the taxes for another year (subject to estimated tax requirements). Frequently Asked Questions
Using a standard r/c battery meter with a 300mah load you will get 5.5 volts on a 4.8v (4 cell) pack. And about 6.9 volts on a 6v (5 cell) pack. The radio battery will read 10.8v See similar questions...

Will large fluctuations in power supply voltage affect the motor?

ORIENTAL MOTOR U.S.A. CORP
The torque produced by the motor is affected by changes in power supply voltage. The torque the motor produces is proportional to roughly twice the power supply voltage. For example, if the voltage of a motor rated at 115 VAC fluctuates between 103.5 VAC (90%) and 126.5 VAC (110%), the torque produced will vary between 80% and 120%. When using motors under large power voltage fluctuations, remember that the torque produced will vary, so select a motor that provides a sufficient margin. See similar questions...

FAQ Zultrax P2P Pro
If there is somewhere a waiting queue, e.g. more users want to download a file than possible, pro users go first. There are no limits, the program always gets you your files as fast as it can. However, there is no guarantee. If e.g. you are in California downloading a file that is only shared by one other user and that other user has a dial-up connection somewhere at a budget provider in Pakistan, things won't go fast, no matter the free or pro version. What is gyro gain?

Frequently Asked Questions
This refers to the sensitivity of the gyro. When the gyro senses an unwanted movement it commands the tail servo to move in the opposite direction to compensate. How much it tells the servo to move is the 'gain'. Ideally the amount of gain should match how much the helicopter was rotated so that it stays pointed in the same direction and does not move. If the gain is too high then the helicopter over compensates. The effect you will see is the tail will bounce back and forth. See similar questions...

What is remote gain?

Frequently Asked Questions
This means the gain can be adjusted in the radio. A non-remote gain capable gyro has a control on it that you use a screw driver to turn for more or less gain. A remote gain capable gyro has an extra plug that goes to the gear channel. With this type you can use the gyro menu in the radio to adjust the gain. If it's an older or cheaper radio that does not have a gyro menu, then you can use the gear ATV to adjust the gain. See similar questions...

What do the signal names 'signal 0', 'signal 1', ... mean?

Frequently Asked Questions about PhysioNet
noted in the answers to the previous two questions, signal names recorded in header files describe the signals in each record. In rare cases, however, this information is missing, usually because it was not preserved when the signals were recorded. Names of the form 'signal N' are default signal names used in such cases; they may appear in header files explicitly, or they may be displayed by PhysioToolkit software if no explicit signal names appear in a header file.
