We have engineering calculations done for every insert flange we sell. Due to many of these being 10+ pages for one calculation, we only forward these upon specific request of the customer. Usually, newer engineers who are not familiar with insert flanges like examining these calculations to help understand the process and thinking behind an insert flange. There is no mystery or secret formula behind insert flanges.

insert flange is a two-piece flange, similar in concept to a lap-joint and stub-end flange, but of superior quality. It consists of an insert (usually made out of 316/316L or 304/304L), and a flange, or bolting ring (usually made out of A-105 or 515/516 Grade 70 carbon steel). Almost any metal material that can be machined can be made into insert flanges. The most common material for an insert is domestic dual certified 304/304L and 316/316L, and for a flange it is domestic A-105 and 515/516 Grade 70 carbon steel. Once the 10+” of wool layers are stuffed into the cotton cover, the final thickness of the Cuddle Ewe Underquilt is approximately 3”. With use, the Cuddle Ewe Underquilt will compress to a thickness of about 1.5” to 2”. This is very normal and to be expected. Once the wool has compressed, there is nothing that can be done to re-fluff it, but it will still be comfortable. With proper care, you can maintain the Cuddle Ewe’s loftiness for a long time. The native Rich Edit control will not tell you whether the next character keyed will be inserted or overwritten. You will have to trap keystrokes and track the insert/overwrite mode yourself. One way to do this is to write your own class, presumably derived from TRichEdit, to track the control's current insert/overwrite state. Note that Rich Edit controls are in insert mode when created. Material thickness in AMAYA OS is expressed in embroidery points. One embroidery point is equal to the thickness of a regular piece of letter paper, thus, picture the default material thickness of 3 points as 3 layers of paper. The correct material thickness will depend on the fabric you are sewing on, among other factors.
