Can I play windows games on my xbox-linux?

Talk:FAQ - Xbox-Linux
Depends upon the game. If it's a DOS game, try DOSEmu (apt-get install dosemu in Xebian to install). Afterwards, you'll likely need to run dosemu not as dosemu, but as xdosemu. If it's a Windows game, Wine (apt-get install wine) may *or may not* run it. Regardless, there is no 3-D support on the XBox, so all games will run at lower resolutions/details (assuming they run at all). Try searching around for a site regarding the particular game you want to run (Half-Life, for instance) for more info.

Do you Need Xbox linux to play burned games if you already have a mod Chip installed?

Talk:FAQ - Xbox-Linux
how do u get ozx memory to recognize my usb memory stick. i have a sandisk 256 and ozx say "NO FatX at drive" If your mem stick isn't formatted as FATX, then you need to start up your XBox to Microsoft's dashboard and insert your memstick. THe Dashboard will say the disk has been damaged and has been reformated. BE ADVISED: all of your data previously on your mem stick WILL be gone! I don't know about the 2004 Holiday Bundle, but most of the 2003 Holiday Bundles XBoxes *should* be v1. See similar questions...

Can I run burnt Xbox games or Xbox games installed to the hard disk once Linux is installed?

Talk:FAQ - Xbox-Linux
The install guide suggests that if I still want to play games, I should install linux with dual boot functionality. My understanding of this is that I would then be booting linux from an xbox dash (Avalaunch in my case). If this is the case would I be still be able to play backed-up games through avalaunch? I would have though this to be an obvious yes, but the FAQ says the following: See similar questions...

Will I be able to play Xbox games on the Xbox 360?

CESPage.com Xbox - FAQ
The Xbox 360 will be backward compatible with the old games - this is done using something called an "emulation profile" which tells the new console how to play your old game - one is needed for each game. The top 100 selling games will have their profiles on the Hard Drive so titles such as Halo 2, Forza, and Project Gotham Racing 2 etc will play fine on the new console. Games outside the top 100 will also be supported as additional profiles will be available to download. See similar questions...

Each region uses 2 separate ways to identify DVDs and games. All North and South American Xboxes use the NTSC format for DVDs and games, and DVDs use another type of format called the region code. Absolutely, Java supports multiple types of systems! All you need is a browser that supports Java. We have seen our games run on many different types of UNIX systems. If you are using the X11 GUI interface, make sure you are running the games directly on that UNIX system otherwise you may bring your server and network down to a crawl (guess how we found this out!). if i convert to xbox linux will i be able to run pc cd games such as the command and conquer games?

Talk:FAQ - Xbox-Linux
Only if they are Linux games, and do not require 3d acceleration. Command and Conquer games are made for Windows, not Linux, and therefore will likely not work. You might be able to tweak WINE to get them to work, but the Xbox's limited memory will stifle your ability to play enjoyably. See similar questions...

Is it possible to play backup copies from DVD-R on the Xbox after installing Linux?

Talk:FAQ - Xbox-Linux
Playing backup copies of games has nothing to do with Linux. You'll need a hack from someone else like XBox Scene (http://www.xbox-scene.com) to run backed up games: neither the MechAssault method nor Cromwell runs backup games. If you have a modchip that can run backup games, the you could install Linux too. You could, but if you're going to do the hardware modification (presumably with a modchip with a switch), there there is no need for the software modification anymore. See similar questions...
