Should I mount or laminate my print?

StudioBlue
Depending on how you are going to use your print will determine if it should be mounted or laminated. Lamination will protect and preserve your print for a longer period of time than if it wasn't laminated. Mounting is suggested if you are using your print in a presentation, exhibit display or if it will be used over several times. In many cases, we are able to encapsulate your graphic, for preservation and for ease of shipping.

If you are making a fine art print or a photograph, then coatings are your best bet for longevity. Laminating a cotton print defeats the purpose of using a long life cotton material. Please don't use 8-ply, foamcore or gatorboard, as they add significantly to the bulk of the portfolio. Additional weight adds to the shipping cost for all participants. The portfolio case does not have loose-leaf acetate pages, but if you wish to submit an unmounted print, you may provide your own protective sleeve. See similar questions...
