All of the PSI piezoceramic parts come with a thin (~3000 Angstrom units) metallic electrode already on the ceramic. Wire leads can be soldered (use ordinary 60/40 resin core solder) anywhere on the electrode to suit the application/experiment. Most PSI ceramics have thin nickel electrodes and require the use of an additional liquid flux for uniform results. Our Solder/Flux Kit was designed to make this task much easier.

With peel and stick neoprene automotive-type adhesive tape, or if you wish we will affix a magnetic strip at no extra charge. However, we cannot guarantee how well the magnetic strip will adhere in your application. From personal experience it won't survive an automatic car wash.

In early original wiring harnesses, the 'R' circuit was a ballast resistor bypass. This terminal is 'no connection' when the starter is at rest, and is +12VDC while cranking.This circuit provided +12VDC to the ignition coil during cranking for easier engine starting. Cars that do not have a ballast resistor (i.e. HEI, MSD, or other aftermarket ignition systems) should not need this connection. In most cases, this wire can be eliminated.

A very important distinction! A ground plane is REQUIRED for a mag mount antenna to work properly. For optimim performance, a ground plane for 800 MHz is a minimum 28" x 28" plane of metal that becomes an integral part of the mag mount antenna. A ground plane is NOT a ground wire. Or put another way, a ground wire will NOT satisfy the need for a ground plane. Ground plane information also here.
