Nyle offers the drying units only, and not the chamber structure. We do provide technical plans and specifications for the construction and/or supply of the drying chamber with each purchase of a Nyle unit.

One advantage of kiln-dried lumber is that any live fungi present in the green lumber will have been killed by the heat of the kiln; in other words, KD lumber is sterile after leaving the kiln. However, if it gets sufficiently wet afterwards, then it is at the same risk of decay as any other wood.

Green lumber is dimensionally unstable. It can easily warp, twist, cut, split and is guaranteed to shrink. We use only framing lumber dried to a moisture content of 19% (commonly referred to as kiln dried) or less in our buildings.

ANSWER: The most common bacterial infection of the nails is due to pseudomonas, and is sometimes referred to as "green nails" because of the greenish-colored nail plate. Pseudomonas is generally caused from air pockets under the nail plate that allow mositure to get in and the green pigment-producing organism thrives in the moist environment. This is usually accompanied by onycholysis (lifting nail), so a dermatologist should intervene.

A lot. In Fact, some species of wood are more than 50 percent water in terms of their weight when freshly cut. Once wood is dry will it remain dry? Wood is always trying to come into equilibrium with the air surrounding it, so its moisture content can change somewhat after it's been dried.

You can build with "green" logs as long as you allow enough settling over windows and doors. We do have an inventory of dry logs also.

Both, depending on the budget and preference of the owner. For years we have built with both dry and green logs. In those years, green logs offered us close to, but not quite absolute perfection. Dry logs were better than green at that time. Over the years, we have tweaked our green log fitting systems, until we were able to offer a construction system that offers tight wood on wood joinery, after drying and settling is completed, using green logs.

One of the most stable softwoods, Western Red Cedar is nevertheless a natural material. Cedar siding can swell or shrink as it gains or loses moisture to reach equilibrium with the moisture content of the surrounding air. In the Midwest, kiln-dried products are closer to the moisture levels of the final installation environment. Also, drier wood products are more receptive to finishes than unseasoned or green sidings. For this reason, kiln-dried sidings are recommended for prefinishing.

Yes. On the 3D Display tab you can use the Measurement/Dimension Precision to enter a number from 1 through 5 to specify the number of decimal places to be used in calibration. For example, if you enter a "5" your measurement would be 5.14389, but if you enter a "2" it would be 5.14. "4" is the default value.

Properly dried lumber sells for a higher price and is much easier to work with than lumber that has not been dried. Drying also improves the strength, kills infestations, hardens pitch, preserves color, reduces weight and controls shrinkage. When lumber is not dried under controlled conditions it is prone to damage, warping, staining and diminished sales value. Other benefits include reduced shipping costs and better quality of goods produced.

Do not take the measurements yourself. Ask a friend to help you or have your measurements taken by a professional tailor or seamstress. Make sure to measure yourself (with undergarments only) and compare to the dress measurements listed with the gown.
