The spam blacklist extension can be found in Subversion. For installation and configuration instructions, consult the README file.

The DNSBL (DNS BLacklist) databases collect IP addresses of spammer servers, open relay mail servers, open proxies, spam-supporting ISPs, dial-up lines, etc. that are known or possible spam sources. As their name implies, DNS blacklist databases can be queried using DNS lookups. Often they are also referred as RBL's (Realtime BLackhole) or ip4r databases.

DNS (Domain Name Service) servers provide information related to domain names. In practice, they are used to resolve a domain name (like ocloudsoft.com) to an IP address (such as 216.194.83.242). Mail Direct must use a DNS server to get mail exchange (MX) host information for a domain so it can deliver the mail direct to your recipient's mail box. You can ask your ISP for the IP address of your ISP's DNS server. Mail Direct provides two default DNS servers, 61.139.2.69 (Primary) and 202.98.96.

You can get rid of spam in your inbox by (1) blacklisting or (2) filtering. A blacklisted mail will be deleted and never enter your inbox whereas a filtered mail can be put into another folder which you named (e.g. you may put all mail from HKU colleagues into a folder called HKU-mail). To blacklist an email, select it in the mailbox and then click the Blacklist link on top. The system will put the blacklisted email address in your filter rules.

I keep receiving the same messages from my ISP and the Event log shows it being repeatedly sent and received

Your blacklist is effectively the opposite of your whitelist--it lets you specify that mail coming from specific senders (or entire domains) should never be delivered to you, under any circumstances. Senders on this list will be blocked, regardless of the content of their mail. We encourage you to only use whitelists and blacklists as a last resort since doing so will bypass the "learning" component of the PostGuard filter.

Into the Blacklist go email address and site users that receive 3 cautions. The Blacklist is shared with other Webmasters, and the blacklisted user will also be deleted by other services.

In the Webmin Servers module, create a new user and give him access to only the Apache Webserver module. After saving, click on Apache Webserver next to the user's name in the list of Webmin users and use the form that appears to deny him access to everything except one selected virtual server. Many other modules can also be configured in a similar way to restrict the access of a user to only certain DNS domains, Unix users or mail aliases.

EZProxy delivers error pages to users for certain common problems. These will usually have the libraries' header and information relevant to explaining the problem and solution. There are a variety of common errors that occur during general surfing of the Internet. When they occur, the web server (or web browser) sends an error page for you to view - usually without a lot of explanation. These may or may not be related to EZProxy.

Domain names must be associated with a DNS server. We let you associate your domain name with our DNS until you are ready to use it. Of course, you can move the name to any other server after registration, at no additional cost to you.

The Domain Name Server (DNS) services all request from other TCP/IP clients, routers or other servers to resolve a domain name into IP address or vice versa. For example, if you type www.yahoo.com in URL address line, it needs a DNS server to resolve into IP address like 66.218.70.50.

You do not need to register or own your own DNS (Domain Name Server) in order to register a domain name or to sign up for email or web hosting services.
