In the Event/Matrix/Score editor double click (not single click; this is important) the MIDI-In status button. Now when you select a specific note, you can affect the velocity and pitch by triggering your controller. So this does what you want basically, but it alters both pitch and velocity together. So as long as you hit the correct note on your keyboard controller, you can edit the velocity via the sensitivity with which you strike your MIDI keyboard as you originally wanted to do.

I'd expect anyone, or shop to sell me a piano that had been basically prepped before it went out the door.

In MIDI change the Rootkey of the Slot. The rootkey sets the middle C for each range and thus can be used to transpose.

Slurs and ties are not recognised by MIDI, so there is a note off followed by another note on. You are supposed to lengthen the semibreve in the Event Parameter Box of the score, and ties will automatically be applied by Logic. (You can also use the matrix and event editors for lengthening notes) TOP

Yes, but it is a bit tricky... MusEdit is mainly a notation editor rather than a real-time MIDI scoring tool. Right now MusEdit is mainly for guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, and other stringed instruments, flute, clarinet, and other woodwinds, trumpet, trombone, and other brass instruments, percussion instruments, drum kits, vocals, acoustic piano, and for all the other instruments which don't have MIDI output (ie. virtually everything except electronic keyboards).

Note that these shortcuts are for Windows machines. They may be different for Macs, OS/2, or Unix systems.

You aren't required to take notes, and I'll never check whether you do, but chances are it will make your life easier, so you might consider it. Many of the questions above can be answered by scribbling marginal notes on your readings-e.g., a star or exclamation point for things that interest or surprise you. A "vs. FirstAuthor" or "like FirstAuthor" for contradictions and connections. Underline and scribble "Arg" for main arguments in secondary sources.

Firstly, use the HELP command at places where you are stuck. There is a number of hints available in the game, but players seem to be very reluctant to ask for help. Secondly, examine things. This is more important in Adv770 then it was in any of its ancestral versions. In fact you should examine things anyway - important or not. I went out of my way to allow you to examine things, even if they are just irrelevant scenery. You may even enjoy some of the responses.
