Everybody's Web browser crashes or locks up once in a while, so it doesn't necessarily mean there's something wrong with your computer. If you experience a crash but you still have control of your mouse, close all of your programs, disconnect from the Internet, and restart your computer. Then reconnect to the Net and restart your browser. If you're system has locked up completely, turn off the power switch, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.

Sometimes, your Internet connection may be interrupted somehow. If this happens, simply connect back to the Internet and go back to the chat room. Unfortunately, when your chat session is interrupted, the chat box is erased and you will not be able to see the previous discussion. But you can always read the chat logs later by clicking on the "Chat Logs" link on the Course Menu.

Do you have other third-party browser plug-ins installed on your system? Some of these plug-ins don't play so well with the Job Search Toolbar. If you want to continue using the Job Search Toolbar, we recommend you uninstall other browser plug-in software and see if that corrects the problem. We appreciate your patience while we work on a solution.

We've have been reported that messed up JavaScript could return a VC++ runtime error and crash Internet Explorer on a few windows configuration. The solution is to setup carefully the JavaScript file (copy/paste existing line to add parameter).

When you start an evaluation, each time you hit the "Next" button, your responses for that page will be saved. You can return to finish it anytime before the evaluation period closes by logging into the system and clicking on the course again. Any courses with incomplete evaluations will be at the top of your course listings and will have "resume FCE" next to it.

Don't worry, we have built in data recovery technology into this form. If your browser crashes, or you lose your Internet connection, you can simply return to the CDX web site and continue filling out your form. If you choose, you can begin the submission process again.

There is usually nothing wrong with our images. We can download them on the systems we have at the CMC without problems. If you have difficulties viewing some elements at the site, we are unlikely to be able to help you unless it is a problem on our server. Your best bet is to consult internet resources on the various types of software available, e.g. Netscape Help or Internet Explorer Support.

Ideally, there should be someone around 24 hours a day to make sure the system is put back up when it dies. A reasonable compromise for companies that aren't large enough to do this is to be sure someone's on the system during peak usage hours, to make sure the system is reset when it goes down.

This seems to happen for viewers who use Windows 98/Me/2000/XP and have QuickTime 6.5 or greater (6.5, 6.5.1, or 6.5.2) installed on their system. It appears to be the result of a bug in QuickTime 6.5.x for Windows, and we've notified Apple of the problem. As far as we can tell, earlier versions of QuickTime for Windows (6.4 etc.) do not have this bug.

A browser is a computer software program that allows a user to view Web Pages while connected to the Internet. Two of the most popular browsers are Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.

RaneWare is a 16-bit program written to run on Windows 95, 98SE and earlier OS's like Windows 3.1, though in some instances will not work on Windows NT, and most instances 2000, ME and XP are inconsistent. The crashing is caused by the WOW32.DLL in later OS versions not being compatible with RaneWare and other file issues. Officially we support only the Windows 98SE and earlier operating systems. The only solution is to run the earlier version: Windows 95 or 98SE.

It's possible to hit something without causing noticeable damage, assuming you don't clout it really hard. Doing this, however, will increase the probability that another relatively light hit will cause damage. Some damage is terminal; you can rip a wheel off, or blow the engine.

There is a bug in the Linux 2.4.18 USB driver which may result in random crashes of the libgphoto2 PTP driver. Please upgrade to a more recent kernel. I've got a serial camera, but gphoto2 doesn't work on SuSE 7.0 (or greater). You told me that my camera is supported! Fix it! If you are not getting a response from a camera plugged into the serial port, check your /var/log/boot.msg file for the following entry near the end: ] *This package use the ttyS0 device by default.
