We test the total negative ion output out of the ion emitter per second (approximately 90 to 100 trillion) using more than one method. We do different tests of the ion output using several proprietary methods that we have developed in our labs. We use Alpha Labs air ion counters. The reading at approx. one meter (39") from the emitter is 1,000,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter. These measurements are done in rooms with no fans and roughly 45% humidity.

No, our ionizers certainly do not generate any positive ions. Some other brands of ionizers generate the negative ions by removing electrons from nearby oxygen atoms (thereby creating positive ions) and transferring the electrons to nearby neutral atoms to generate negative ions. However, our ionizers emit all the electrons directly from the ion emitter (instead of robbing them from other atoms).

Neo-Tec Ionizer uses ionizing electrodes (needlepoint ionizers) to produce a high density of negative ions. Needlepoint ionization produces the highest concentration of negative ions of any other method. Each Neo-Tec Ionizer produces about 1,000,000 ions/cm.3. Also, it is very unlikely that the electrodes within the Neo-Tec Ionizer purifier will ever wear down or erode, since they are made from stainless steel. Most other ionizers use inferior materials for their electrodes (needlepoints).

It is now medically recognized that degenerative skin conditions, such as ageing, wrinkles and skin discolorations are caused primarily by free-radical damage. Molecules attempting to repair themselves in this way trigger a cascading event called "free-radical damage." The action of free-radical damage takes place in a fraction of a second. Theoretically, free-radical damage can cause deterioration of the skin's support structures, decreasing elasticity and resilience.

The negative ions create alkaline water, which stimulates nerves, increases blood circulation, and softens tissues. Start with tap water that has a low pH of say 6.0, and after 30 minutes, the unit water always become a pH of 7.0, balanced water, neither acidic or alkaline. So while the feet, hands, or whole body is in a bath with the unit, I get the benefits of positive and negative ions, and minutes later the water becomes neutral in terms of pH. Yes, you've got it.

There's several ways to generate negative ions, but the way we do it is apply a safe, extremely low-current, high voltage to sharp points (the ion emitter). Without getting into a detailed explanation and delving into electron physics, the electrons build up on the sharp points and are ejected into the air, where they attach themselves to oxygen atoms. Since the electrons have a "negative" charge, the molecules of oxygen with extra electrons become negative ions.

Ion Counters indicate that the original passive negative ion generator produces between a constant 550 ? 650 negative ions per cubic centimeter within an inch of the ion counter. The MarkII (second generation prototype) registers 1250 ions per cubic centimeter a few inches from the ion counter.

During this process of production, chlorine (Cl) plays an important role. In the periodic table, chlorine is seventeenth; in other words, Cl has seventeen protons (carries positive electricity) and seventeen electrons (carries negative electricity). According to calculated results by chemists, Cl must get one electron from the air to arrive at a stable state; so there will be more electrons than protons, which makes Teviron have negative electricity.

Negative ions have been linked directly and indirectly to better health. Negative ions have been shown to increase oxygenation of the lungs and lower complaints of general aches, pains, lethargy and depression. Additionally, investigators at the EPA have shown how particles charged by combining with negative ions tend to attach to grounded surfaces such as ceilings, walls, and floors.

Virtually all airborne contaminants have a positive charge. Negative ions have a negative charge. Therefore, when there is a high enough concentration of negative ions in the air, negative ions and airborne particles magnetically attract to one another in large numbers. This marriage causes the particle to become too heavy to remain airborne. The particles then fall out of the air so that they can't be inhaled.

The Surround Air XJ-2000 uses 17 high density stainless steel ionic pins to produce trillions of negative ions per second from the front of the unit. The NeoTec XJ-902 uses two corona discharge lines to produce a high density of negative ions in every direction. Both units produce over 150,000 negative ions per cubic centimeter at three feet. That's equivalent to the negative ion concentration near waterfalls - long known to be the healthiest, cleanest air known to man.

A lot! Negative ions are molecules of oxygen (O2) in the air with an extra electron. Ozone is O3, a molecule of oxygen consisting of three oxygen atoms instead of the normal two. Negative ions primarily reduce particulates in the air such as dust and pollen, but they aren't as effective as ozone for eliminating odors. Ozone does not reduce the particulates in the air, but it is more effective at eliminating odors, even very strong odors. Too much ozone is bad for you.

You can expect to breathe freshened, purified air, with much of the pollen, dust, pet dander, and other allergy causing particles removed from the air in your room. You can also expect a large number of negative ions to be produced externally, that is, out into the room away from the ionizer (and we include an ion detector with each unit to prove it).
