They are made by Vitro, a company with 93 years of experience and the fourth largest glass manufacturer in the world. Most of their products are made in Mexico; however, many are designed at their design centers in New York and Texas. They are a very reputable company and make everything from baby food jars to wine bottles to windshields (see Internet Links section for more information about Vitro). When we decided to sell glass bottles, we looked at availability, cost, and quality.

When searching for a manufacturer and distributor of glass baby bottles, we discovered that the two main suppliers are Evenflo and Born Free. Evenflo produces a large variety of baby products, including polycarbonate baby bottles that contain bisphenol A (BPA). Their glass baby bottles may be purchased online for a reasonable price.

Aluminum cans are better on the environment than glass bottles. For example, making cans from recycled aluminum cuts related air pollution by 95%, whereas making glass from recycled materials reduces air pollution by only 20%. Aluminum is much lighter than glass to ship and consequently reduces stress on the environment, such as gas required to fuel trucks, materials necessary to handle the load of glass, and extra emissions from freight vehicles due to weight.
