In far and away the majority of R/C Rx applications a 6v NiMH pack provides the same faster servo speed and increased servo output power a 6v Nicad would without any of the twitches or jitters long associated with Nicad 6v systems. Nicads display a relatively high ‘surface voltage spike’ fresh off of a peak charge, and that’s what’s producing those un-nerving servo jitters.

A voltage regulator, aka a charge controller, is a device in a photovoltaic system which prevents over charging (aka 'cooking') batteries. Depending upon the sophistication of the unit, it may also prevent over-discharge of the batteries and reverse charging of the cells.

If you're using T-Tape, soaker dripline or Aquapore you will need a regulator. Read the individual product descriptions for pressure recommendations. If you're using pressure compensating emitters, Shrubblers® or misters and have normal pressure you may not need a regulator. If you are using sprayers, you may want to use a pressure regulator to bring the water pressure into the rated range of the sprayer, since they will generally put out more water at higher pressures.

The BCM-1 Battery Charger (Item #260206) for the EVOLT E-510 is rated at 100-240 V AC and automatically adjusts itself for the local electrical current. However, you may have to get a set of plug adapters for the different wall outlets used in foreign countries. Plug adapter kits are available at electronics and luggage stores. The EVOLT E-510 accepts CompactFlash cards up to 8 GB capacity and supports Write Acceleration CompactFlash cards.

A voltage regulator functions as a voltage converter as well as a voltage stabilizer. A voltage stabilizer will stabilize the electricity to a fixed current. VC model transformers come with a European-to-American plug adapter. You can find additional types of plug adapters on our site.

Not unless you ‘needed’ one with your Nicad setup. Normally, using “battery back-ups” means using parallel packs. You'll need to keep the packs separated for charging and there's always the additional weight to consider, but you get a significant gain in runtime and a whole lot more system security. To keep weight down, you can use a single 5 cell pack with two connector leads fed to two switches to ‘back up’ the radio systems higher risk components.

Quality NoBS Sanyo NiMH replacement packs and Computer R/C Transmitters are perfect for each other. The original equipment 700ma Nicad pack in my Futaba 9CAP would peter out in under an hour of operation. With a new NoBS Sanyo NiMH 1650ma replacement the run time is better than twice that; even more when I’m not in PCM mode (4 + hours in PPM!).

The voltage regulator controls or regulates the alternator's output. Think of it as the brains of the charging system. It senses how much voltage is needed by your vehicle, then modifies the field current within the alternator so it puts out just the right amount of current. Too little current can allow the battery to run down while too much can damage it and other electrical and electronic components.

The HT71XX provides a +/-5% voltage tolerance while the HT71XX-1 offers an enhanced +/-3% voltage tolerance.

You need to look at the board. Near the Slot1 connector there is a chip with around 30 pins or so. Some of these chips can provide 1.3V-3.5V, while others can only provide 1.8V-3.5V. Attention, dual-cpu boards have two voltage regulator chips, and it is possible that one is of the new type and the other not! This list is not complete. Asus has used quite a lot of different voltage regulator chips on its boards, so it's possible there are even more that Asus used I'm not aware of.

The HT73XX series of voltage regulators offer voltages in the following categories: 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.7V, 3.0V, 3.3V, 3.5V and 5.0V voltage levels.

Do not use small diameter, long vent lines. Use the rule of thumb of the next nominal pipe size every 10 feet (6,1 meters) of vent line and 3 feet (0,91 meters) of vent line for every elbow in the line.

Both Nicads and NiMH have similar load performance.. when a load is applied the voltage drops. The bigger the load, the bigger the voltage drop. If you are flying an average 40-60 sized trainer or sport aerobatic plane, voltage drops are fairly low because the control surface loading isn’t significantly loading up the servos. As soon as the planes get a little bigger, folks need bigger servo’s to deal with the bigger control surface loads.

Voltage is 220 volts, but you will need an adaptor for Thai plug which can be found in most convenience stores.
