There were more Revolutionary War battles and skirmishes in South Carolina than in any other colony. South Carolina actually had very little Civil War activity.

Really, you don't have to worry about this to much. Yeah, the Kevlar weighs a lot, the Rucksack is heavy, then you have two full canteens and carrying a weapon at Port Arms to boot (and when you march Cadence, you carry that weapon at Port Arms, not at the Ready, which does wear you out!) But first, you get used to just marching and singing cadence. It's heavy, but you deal with it. Plus, they build you up for it. When you get to the road marches, it gets to be not so bad.

Battle Chess was a computer game of the early '90's where the game pieces where animated and the actual action of taking an opponents game piece was animated on the board. Some days, I'd spend 12 hours or more, just cruising the Internet, looking for information. A well-informed conversion has a much reduced risk of problems or engine damage. I then began gathering components over a period of several months.

it took us about a week. With two different people putting in about 4-5 hours a day. So about 40 - 70 man hours. we used 1/2" CDX (just rough. ) plywood for the first two layers, and Masonite for the last layer. see the question about how to bend the wood, for more info. I have a feeling that the transitions would be too tight for BMX, and the Decks are definitely short, ( 2' 4" )

Most people picture tipis when they think about Indian homes. Tipis have been around a long time; stone circles dating back several thousand years have been found at various sites on the Plains. Paleoindian peoples, living near the end of the ice age, did not appear to have used tipis. Traces have been found of posts which probably anchored tent frames or similar structures. Caves and rockshelters were also used as homes by various peoples in the past.
