The starting point to obtain a concealed weapons permit is to go the Albany County Sheriff’s Office located in Laramie at the County Court Building on Grand Avenue. They have the information needed to step you through the process.

Emergency Substitute Permit information packets are available in the Human Resources Department at the County Office of Education.

CCW packets are available at the Grand Ledge Police Department free of charge. All of the information you will need is in the packet. When applying for a CCW permit, you will also be required to have a gun Safety Certificate completed by an authorized firearms instructor, or a Police Officer. Five (5) Years. There is NO grace period beyond your expiration date. If you do not meet the requirements of renewal within 60 days of your permit expiration, then you must re-take the full 8 Hour CCW Course. NO EXCEPTIONS! A processing fee in the amount of $65, effective January 1st, 2005 (Cashier's Check or Money Order only) made payable to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. This payment is submitted with your CCW Permit Application form and Fingerprint Card upon completion of the course. Concealed weapon permits must be renewed every five (5) years. All applicants must complete a DPS renewal forms and submit forms to AZ DPS along with permit renewal fee before the expiration date listed on their permit.

Nationwide, only three percent of all requests for permits are denied. Those few applicants who have been denied permits usually have refused to change the design, timing, or location of the proposed activity. When a permit is denied, an applicant may redesign the project and submit a new application. To avoid unnecessary delays pre-application conferences, particularly for applications for major activities, are recommended.

You must be a City of Flint resident and have a current, valid I.D. proving that. The cost for the CCW application is a $5.00 City charge and $39.00 which must be in the form of a check or money order and made out to the State of Michigan. If the application for the CCW permit is denied, you will not receive a refund.
