In the Santa Clara Valley the cost of living, particularly housing, is such that even 300% of poverty here is barely comparable to the 250% legislatively established for Healthy Families throughout the entire state. Moreover, it is believed that families earning over 300% FPL are more likely to have access to employer sponsored health insurance.

FPL means Federal Poverty Level. 2001 guide for FPL is $8,590 annually or $716 monthly for a family of one. FPL for a family of four is $17,650 or $1,471 monthly. This Federal Poverty guideline is adjusted annually.

There are always some air emissions associated with producing electricity using fuels like oil, natural gas or coal. However, the proposed West County natural gas-fired combined-cycle units would be among the cleanest, most environmentally advanced generating units in the state. Specifically, the generating technology uses clean-burning natural gas and combustion and pollution control technologies to minimize emissions.

First, there's an investment in hardware and wiring. You need to have N motes attached to an N-port serial multiplexor (or a computer with N serial ports). All the motes need to be wired for power as well. This part can be time-consuming and expensive.
