Entlebuchers excel at this. They can become champions with consistency and hard work. They can learn fast but need firm training. It is very important for the owners to do the training themselves. Sometimes people send their dogs to be trained but they end up minding the trainer and not their human parents. They also excel at agility and herding. These activities are a lot of fun for the dog.

We are currently looking into the possibility of acquiring the services of a reputable groomer. Obedience training is not being offered at this time but may become available in the future.

Off-Leash is when people come over and you put your dog on "Down-Stay" and do not need to get a leash. Off-Leash is when you go out to your car, or work in your yard and the dog will hang out with you, and not run down the street. Off-Leash is pulling over on the side of the freeway to let your dogs out to take a leak and opening the car door 5 minutes later and they jump back in.

I have VERY good reputable trainers I can refer for advanced training and they like to get the puppy at about 7-8 months old - for obedience I also have some good folks and they can start with this a lot sooner at about 4-5 months old.

Many clubs/trainers offer what they call a "Puppy Kindergarten" class, which is for pups three months of age, sometimes younger, and up which provides very basic manners training and socialization. Formal obedience training usually begins at around six months of age, and if this is your first experience with training a beagle you probably should enroll in at least the "beginner obedience" classes to establish basic training (such as sit, stay, come on command, etc.).
