Your Microsoft Outlook mailbox grows as you create and receive items. You can reduce the size of your mailbox by storing some messages locally on your own computer in Personal Folders. These could be messages having to do with a specific project or messages with large attachments. You can also use Personal Folders to transfer items from one computer to another. In the Types of storage area, click on Office Outlook Personal Folders File (.pst) to create a new Outlook .pst file.

Make a note of what you currently have in the "incoming mail server" entry (the name of your POP3 server). Change the "incoming mail server" from the name of your POP3 server to "localhost" (no quotes). Open the SpamBayes configuration page at http://localhost:8880/config (you can do this via the tray application, or just type that address into your browser). Enter your POP3 server's name in the top box ("Remote Servers").

You can manually transfer old items to a storage file by clicking Archive on the File menu, or you can have old items automatically transferred by using AutoArchive. Items are considered old when they reach the age you specify. With AutoArchive, you can either delete or move old items. AutoArchive is a two-step process. First, you turn on AutoArchive. Second, you set the AutoArchive properties for each folder that you want archived.

The Personal Folders comprise folders and files that you store on your computer rather than the server. They also are referred to as a PST, which stands for personal store.

You can still use your Outlook folders and your Outlook rules while getting all of the benefits that NEO offers. Your Outlook folders are accessible from NEO through NEO's Outlook view. You can even make an Outlook folder Hot! NEO focuses on email, but does provide quick access to your Calendar, Tasks, and so on. However, NEO does not integrate with: NEO Pro organizes multiple message stores into a seamless view of your email.

The latest ActiveSync version gives the possibility to synchronize Outlook folders with Pocket Outlook mail application. However, this is not possible with Outlook Express; folders other than Inbox and Outbox are ignored. Subfolders in Inbox are ignored as well.

Unfortunately, the behaviour you are seeing is a limitation of the OLE interface that Outport uses. The only way around that, that I know of, is to copy the folders you are interested in to your Outlook Today folder. I am in the process of rewriting Outport so it uses the MAPI interface, but I unfortunately don't have a lot of time to devote to it, so I can't give you an estimate on when this will be finished.
