The Error message "SSL download failed" is caused by Ad-Aware 2007 not getting access to the Internet. If you are using a proxy server, make sure to configure the Ad-Aware WebUpdate settings. In Ad-Aware 2007->WebUpdate->Proxy settings. Turn off all security software like Firewalls (check your router firewall as well) and any Antivirus programs. If you do not get an error message, configure your security software to grant Ad-Aware 2007 network access, before turning them on again.

The common cause for this error is specifying a control as a SqlParameter's Value instead of the control's text value. The WATCOM directory of the Guide CD has a file called DOS4GW.EXE. Copy this to the Guide directory on your hard drive, and the problem will go away. In Guide 6.0, this file was always copied over when you installed Guide, because the DOS version of Guide needs it, too. But in Guide 7.0 and 8.0, if you don't install the DOS version of Guide, DOS4GW.EXE is never copied... and this is not a problem, until you try to run Charon!
