This can all be done on the fly by sending register settings as part of your send-expect sequence when you call out, or you can do so as part of your modem initialization string in static. ClearSail recommends that no modems be used under the speed of 56K. It is recommended that you consider upgrading to a 56K x2 or v.90 modem. These modems will perform approximately twice the speed as a 28.8, and with prices coming down, most major computer stores offer 56K v.90 modems for under $50.00.

There are many light sources and situations that are not covered by Auto White Balance or the other settings in the White Balance menu. There are many noncontinuous light sources that do not have all of the colors of the spectrum, such as fluorescent, mercury vapor, and sodium vapor lights. There are also situations in which many different types of lights are used in one environment.

That's your decision. It depends on a number of things, such as the subject you are taking, your own personal taste and the effect you want to achieve, also limiting factors such as the amount of light available. The best thing to do is to practise with different settings and decide which you like best. Try keeping your camera in "Aperture-Priority" mode and see how you get on.
