Some bathrooms will have a Western style toilet rather than a squat style. A shower with cold water is usually installed in the bathroom. In most cases, volunteers share bathroom/toilet with host family.

All fields are required by the town to provide an excess of sanitary facilities. While portable, these have come a long way toward comfort and "acceptability" and you will find them no problem to use. While there are numerous food and drink booths scattered the entire show route, the New England Motel, (situated in the middle of the show), has the largest and most popular food court, featuring a wide variety of food providers to meet your individual taste.

We bring at least one solar shower on our trips, and often two. We place them out in the sun to heat up during the day. Though the showers do not produce strong water pressure, people have found them adequate for rinsing off and even washing their hair. Our guests have really appreciated having the showers along! The toilet facilities are a bit more rugged. The guides dig a deep pit for the latrine and for your comfort we bring a seat which is situated above the hole.

A portable toilet facility is provided on every trip. This system is commonly referred to as a "Ba?o". The ba?o will be set up in a private secluded place close to camp, but not too close. En suite: the bathroom will be attached to the bedroom and will only be used by the guests staying in that bedroom. Private: the bathroom may not be directly accessible from the bedroom but will be available only to the guests staying in that bedroom. Shared: the bathroom will be shared by guests from a small number of bedrooms. In rooms that share a bathroom there will normally be a wash basin in the rooms.

On the Upper Kenai, we'll be fishing through some undeveloped wilderness areas with enough trees for everyone. On the Lower Kenai, restroom facilities are always available within a short boat ride.

Where rooms have shared bathroom facilities we provide a toilet, washbasin and shower for residents to use. The number of people sharing a shower/toilet ranges from 2 to 6. Shared bathroom facilities are cleaned 6 times per week.
