In single- or double-blind studies, the participants don't know which medicine is being used, and they can describe what happens without bias. Blind studies are designed to prevent anyone (doctors, nurses, or patients) from influencing the results. This allows scientifically accurate conclusions. In single-blind ("single-masked") studies, only the patient is not told what is being given.

The vast majority of students here are assigned to standard double rooms. We do, however, have a handful of rooms that are over-sized and designed to accommodate three students. The fee for these rooms is slightly less. These rooms are not double rooms that have been converted to triples to accommodate overcrowded conditions. Single rooms are scarce on the Midtown campus and in several of our Westside buildings.

A clinical trial is a prospective study in which the participants are placed into two groups based on a random division (to avoid bias in subject selection), and the subjects are not aware of which group they are in, the treatment or the control (a single-blind study). If the researchers also do not know which group is which before they break the code (they are coded for later evaluation) it is called a double-blind study.

Triple: Room has either 3 single beds, or 1 large Queen / King size bed and 1 single bed, or equivalent to accommodate 3 adults. Family / Quad: Room has either 4 single beds, or 1 large Queen / King size bed and 2 single beds, or equivalent to accommodate 4 adults. Junior Suite / Suite: Consists of a bedroom and small living room. Usually accomodate 2 adults unless otherwise stated. Bedroom Apartment: 1 Bedroom, small living room, small kitchen and 1 toilet.

A Single has one thick wire, a Double is a two thinner wires, a Triple has three thinner wires than the Double, a Quad has four thinner wires, and so on. So, an 8 Double will have TWO (Double) thin wires wrapped around the pole 8 times. A 12 Triple will have THREE (Triple) wires wrapped around the pole 12 times, and the 10 Single will have ONE (Single) thick wire wrapped around the pole 10 times.

A Master may choose to blind any member of their House or Coven. When a member is Blind they cannot see the House Forum or News, and they will not receive any House messages. A Master may choose to blind a member for any number of reasons, including problematic members. Who a Master chooses to blind is totally up to the Master.

If there are two beds per room available and you wish to have your own (single supplement) room, you can expect to pay substantially more for your tour.

All of our double rooms are equipped with one double bed. Should you wish to receive a room with two single separated bed instead it will be better to write this wish in the field note of the reservation form or, any case to inform us before the arrival. This way we may tell the maids to split the double bed in two single beds so that the room will be correctly configured to suit your needs.

The number of turns of a motor is the number of times the wires in the motor are wound around the armature. 'Single', 'double', 'triple' and 'quad' refer to the number of strands of wires being wound onto the armatures. Single refers to one wire, double refers to two and so on… Hence, a 16 turn double (16x2) breaks down to 2 wires being wound around the armature 16 times. The lower number of turns generally results in higher RPMs, amp draw and heat, as well as lower runtimes.

A module that has chips on both sides of the printed circuit board is said to be double-sided, and a module that only has chips on one side of the printed circuit board is single-sided. In most cases, double- and single-sided modules can be used interchangeably. A double-blind trial is the standard method for deciding whether or not a treatment has any "real" effect. A placebo is a "treatment" that has no effect except through the mind of the patient. The usual form is a pill containing a little lactose (milk-sugar), although a bitter-tasting liquid or injections of 1cc saline can be used instead. The "placebo effect" is the observed tendency for patients to display the symptoms they are told to expect.

A double blind study is when one laser is working and one laser is off to gauge the placebo effect. Our Bowling Green facility does not participate in a double blind study and all of our lasers are working with each treatment.

A double-blind or double-masked study is one in which neither the participants nor the study staff know which participants are receiving the experimental treatment and which ones are getting either a standard treatment or a placebo. Single stage finish is one that requires no separate clearcoat. In traditional paint systems, or basecoat/clearcoat systems, the color is applied first, then a separate clear coat is required to give the finish a glossy appearance and durability.
