The Kelvin (K) is the unit of color temperature. 4100K is the brightest, most natural white light similar to that of daytime sunlight, and therefore the HID color temperature used most in the OEM automotive industry. When you look at the light coming directly out of an HID headlight, it possesses a bit of a blue or purple hue which most people recognize as the expensive, elegant look characteristic of HID's. For this reason, some HID kit manufacturers produce 5400K, 6500K, 8000K, etc.

The light color of a light source is expressed as color temperature. The higher the color temperature of a light source, the light emitted will run through a scale from dark red, red, orange, yellow, white to light blue. The higher the temperature, the whiter the color. Xenon HID light sources for automotive use are rated at 4000-4500 K while halogen bulbs are rated around 3200 K. As a reference, natural daylight is rated at around 4500-5000 K.

Many people believe that the higher the color temperature the brighter the lamp. This is incorrect. The color temperature is purely a scale to measure the color of the light output. It is a reference purely for color and could equally be called White, Green or Blue. The reality is the higher up the scale the lamps are the less bright they become. 5200K lamps are approx 10% brighter (measured in Lumens, not degrees K) than 7000K.

A transformer’s rated temperature rise (degrees Celsius) is the average temperature of the transformer’s windings over an ambient temperature of 40°C. In other words, the average winding temperature = ambient temperature rise.

Unfortunately, this is one you can't do yourself. You need special equipment to measure the color. In fact, most ISF technicians lack the equipment specific to plasma calibration (a $15K gadget known as a spectroradiometer). But even the standard color measurement equipment (which calibrationists do have) will do a great job. That said, one person who had his Panasonic display calibrated by an ISF specialist said that the Cinema / Warm setting was reasonably close to 6500K out of the box.

Shepherd Color pigments are some of the most heat resistant colorants known and find use in glass enamels, high heat coatings, and engineering plastics. They are stable in most systems up to their calcination temperature (>1400F/800C). What people really want to know is how does the light from LEDs compared with their perceptions of light from other sources. Since the spectrum of light from a white LED does not have the same form as that of any other light source, the color temperature of LEDs is somewhat subjective. LightBlasters original LEDs had a comparitive color temperature of 5,500K, a blue-white mixture we called cool-cool.

Color temperature refers to the color of the light. Soft white (also known as warm white, or 2700k) has similar light color to sunlight. Daylight (6500K) is on the opposite end of the spectrum with a much whiter, more sterile color. Sunlight has a CRI of 100, meaning the color of an object under sunlight is the true color of the object. The higher the CRI, the closer it will be to natural sunlight. Globe enersaver CFLs have a CRI of higher than 80.

Color temperature (or correlated color temperature, CCT) is a number indicating the degree of yellowness or blueness of a white light source. Measured in kelvins, CCT represents the temperature an incandescent object (like a filament) must reach to mimic the color of the lamp.

The long-term service temperature is defined as being the maximum temperature at which plastics can be kept in hot air for 10,000 and 20,000 hours without losing more than 50% of the initial values for their typical properties. The short-term service temperatures are the short-term peak temperature values that the plastic can withstand for a period of minutes or sometimes even hours without the plastic being damaged, taking into account the load and its duration.

Color is the perception of the power spectrum that is striking our retinas. Cells called cones are responsible for our perception of color. There are three distinct types of cones and each type covers a different region of the spectrum. The cones are typically labeled as red, green, and blue, which gives the incorrect impression that each responds to a distinct frequency. In fact, there is significant overlap between them, especially in the case of red and green.

Color temperature is a monitor setting and values are in degrees Kelvin. 5000°K, 6500°K, 7500°K, and 9300°K are popular choices. For the most natural colors and best full range contrasts we recommend the 5000°K setting.

Stars produce energy primarily by nuclear reactions in their deep interiors. The nuclear reactions produce very high-energy particles and gamma-rays, but these can't escape easily through the outer layers of the star; they must scatter many times on their way out. The 'color' of light (the emission amplitude and spectral distribution) can significantly affect plant growth. Low color temperature implies warmer (more yellow/red) light while high color temperature implies a colder (more blue) light. Daylight has a rather low color temperature near dawn, and a higher one during the day. Our lights offer a rich blue/white light that is rated at 6500 degrees Kelvin.

Generators must prove by knowledge or testing that a waste they create is as they have described it. The University agreed with regulators to verify that the contents of a container match the description, thus avoiding extensive and expensive chemical testing costs. This subjective means of analyzing wastes is considered sufficient to prove that the generator does indeed know what has been placed in a waste container.

The prime virgin high density polyethylene resin used to manufacture Butcher Board HD is natural in color. To the human eye many people would consider the color to be white. Since no pigment is added to the resin it is considered natural (but it does look white).
