Trout planting begins in January and it continues through the end of May. We usually plant trout twice per week during this period. In this time 40,000+ trout will be planted; Many of them trophy sized. This year Collins Lake started a new program to raise trophy rainbow trout in pens over the winter for release later in the year. Read more about it on our news page.

Not likely, since the number of unclipped fish captured in surveys and documented in the creel survey is very small. The absence of clips is generally due to fish being missed during clipping or from regeneration of fins. A dramatic increase in the number of unclipped fish above historical levels might indicate increased natural reproduction.

For access questions, the DNR's Trout Stream Access brochure is a must. The stream portions with public access are usually marked stream-side with small tan metal signs as well. In addition, the presence of stiles (home-made "ladders") over fences are a good indicator of a friendly landowner. Even in areas without "public" access, a polite request often brings permission. Just remember to stay in the stream corridor and respect fences, livestock and property.

A5. The Missouri Ozarks region has one of the greatest concentrations of springs in the United States. These springs number in the thousands, and range in size from very small to the largest in the world (Big Spring). Springs have played an important role in the development of this state and are a big part of our Ozark heritage. A large number of people in this state enjoy outdoor activities, and have for generations.

At normal water levels brook trout start feeding on the surface at 40 degrees while rainbows and browns do better at 45 degrees. This is a decision for each angler to make, but I don't do it because I do not want to stress the fish.

All coho and chinook salmon die after spawning as part of their life cycles. Brown trout, steelhead and brook trout do not automatically die following spawning, although some will die simply from old age, stress from spawning or an infection such as fungus brought on by spawning activity. Depending on their age, some trout will return to Lake Michigan.

The wider the planting hole the greater an area of disturbed soil for new roots to grow into. It is especially important in compacted soils to dig out an area as wide as possible (3 times the width of the root ball) around the root ball. One of the most common errors in planting trees is planting too deep. It is very important that the tree be planted even with the ground level or slightly higher.

Trees should receive 1.5 to 3.0 gallons (depending on time of year) of water per inch of trunk diameter per day. For example, a three inch caliper tree planted in summer should receive 9 gallons per day. Container-grown trees require more water than field-grown trees during establishment due to the porous nature of the container growing media. Watering should continue at least until the tree is completely established.

The tree establishment time for most trees in central Florida is 3 months per inch of trunk diameter. For example, if a 3 inch caliper tree were planted it would require 9 months until it was completely established. Establishment means that the tree has rooted into the new landscape and started growing at the same rate it was growing prior to transplanting.

Each year TRWD partners with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to host a series of trout stockings in the Trinity River. These popular events are generally held from December through February at both Trinity Park and River Park in Fort Worth. Check the TRWD website each fall for scheduled dates and times.

A clinical case of Lyme disease occurs when a person is infected by a tick bite. Symptoms follow after an incubation period that may last between two and thirty days. However, on some occasions, the bacteria do not cause disease straight away. The bacteria can enter a phase in which they do not cause symptoms but are still present. They may still have the potential to cause active disease at a later stage.

The program admits a new class each fall and spring semester; however, students are welcome to get a jump start on the certificate by enrolling in HPRS 1206, Essentials of Medical Terminology as soon as possible. Additionally, students may enroll in PHRA 1301, Introduction to Pharmacy, and PHRA 1209, Pharmaceutical Mathematics, with department approval.

Coverage begins on January 1st for employees who enrolled during the annual open enrollment period. For newly hired or newly eligible employees who enroll mid-year, coverage begins on the first day of the month that begins on or after the date the enrollment form is received by the employer.

The policy debaters will return to campus on August 14th for the preseason retreat on campus. The retreat will begin at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 14th. Students interested in public debate will meet shortly after the beginning of the school year in late August or early September. Students will stay in the dorms and should arrange to pay for most of their meals (the dining halls will be open, although meal plans won't be working).
