The Elk Highlands homesites are just 1.3 miles from the Big Mountain village area and 7 miles from downtown Whitefish.

From the downtown, go north across the bridge onto Wisconsin Avenue. Follow Wisconsin to the turn to Big Mountain. Take the Big Mountain Road up to the Elk Highlands turn. At the sign turn left into Elk Highlands

With a private chairlift, all of the homeowners of Elk Highlands will have access to the Big Mountain ski resort.

The entrance to our property borders one of the three scenic highways that come into the village of Highlands and the entrance is located approximately six and a half miles from the village limits.

All utilities within Elk Highlands are underground and include Big Mountain community water and Whitefish city sewer.

The ski resort and lodge is approximately 13 miles from town. In the winter it usually takes only 30-40 minutes to get up the mountain.

Discovery Ski Area is about 30 miles from the resort. Driving time will depend on weather conditions.

It is expected that residences will contain at least 2,500 square feet of enclosed heated living area.

Mountain ski touring focuses on climbing mountains and downhill skiing. Your legs, lungs, and stamina replace ski lifts, but again the most important factor is getting away. There are two downhill skiing styles of mountain touring. One of the styles is called telemark skiing. The telemark is a type of turn that requires that the heel of the boot not be attached to the ski (thus the terms, free heel skiing). Telemark skiing uses boots and bindings specifically designed to allow this turn.

Snowbird’s Cliff Lodge is ski-in, ski-out. The Lodge at Snowbird, the Inn, and the Iron Blosam are within walking distance of the tram and chairlifts.

Do take extra care on the ascent to the resort. Val d'Isere is not a particularly high resort (1850m) but a baby cannot always equalise the pressure in his or her ears as easily as an adult. The local doctor recommends taking the journey up the mountain to the resort slowly

Powder House has six centrally located shops, all of which are within walking distance of the Heavenly Gondola and the casinos.

Generally the families live within 15 minutes by bus from the school. Taxis are very inexpensive and also a convenient way to get to school. A lot of families live within walking distance, depending upon the country. Most of the schools are located only a short distance from the downtown area.

The Richmond Hill campus, where freshmen and sophomores live and study, is about 7 miles or 35 minutes by Tube. The Kensington campus, where juniors and seniors live and study, is right in the heart of central London.

We are the highest category Resort closer to downtown; we are only five minutes away from downtown of Puerto Vallarta .

Guests, we are conveniently located on Capital Hill, Seattle's most exciting neighborhood that also happens to be closest to the center of the city - Westlake Center (15 blocks). Seattle is 20 minutes North from the airport. You can walk downtown or take the #10 Metro bus.
