No, the Sony 50XBR950 does not have an HDMI connection, it has DVI instead. DVI is digital as well, but it is not as high as HDMI in bandwidth. There is only one plasma TV maker that incorporates built in speakers into the plasma frame (Philips). Most manufacturers do however offer speakers as additional options which can be attached to the side of the plasma TV.
