Yes, many Yamaha AV receivers are stable down to, but not below 4 ohms. We recommend that you use only speakers with a minimum of 4 ohms. Also, please make sure that the impedance selector switch is set to the correct position as recommended by the owner's manual.

To connect the audio output from the computer to the AV receiver, you need a stereo mini-plug to a stereo RCA pin cord. Then connect the line-out from the computer sound card to an available audio input on the receiver. Select the input and adjust the volume output from the receiver.

You typically have two options when connecting a powered sub woofer. Input (1) on the rear of the sub woofer would be used when connecting the sub woofer to the receiver using speaker wires. You would then connect the main speakers to the opposite end, or output or the sub woofer to the main speakers. Option (2) would be using RCA line level output jacks, input (2) on the rear panel of the sub woofer directly to the single sub woofer output on the back of an AV receiver.

In most cases, your TV may only have one set of video inputs. If this is the case then you are limited to the amount of video product that you can connect to the TV. By connecting all your audio/video components directly to the receiver, you would only have to use one video cable from the receiver to the TV. This in turn simplifies the connections, which makes video switching easier.

Please read the impedance rating carefully, if the receiver is rated for 6-8 Ohm, don't use any speaker with the impedance rating outside what's recommended.

The short answer is don't try if you are new to home cinema as the back of one of these machines can be very scary. If you are determined to do it yourself then talk to your dealer first to make sure you have all the right cables for your system, then carefully consult the handbook to ensure you have everything in the right place. You will then need to balance the speakers and set up the sound levels.

Aperture priority mode is similar to fully automatic mode, except that you pick the aperture value. Metering works the same way, but with the aperture fixed there is exactly one shutter speed that will provide the correct exposure in the exposure table. This is what the camera picks for you. Choosing an aperture that maximizes the sharpness of your lens. (Every lens has an aperture at which it is sharpest.)

Any home theater receiver allows you to connect a minimum of five speakers, including a front left and right pair, a center channel speaker, and a surround pair. You can always add a subwoofer if desired. This being the case, the speakers you purchase will sound the way they were designed to sound. Your best bet is to listen to several different speakers using the same amp/receiver. Select the speakers that sound best to you.

For especially loud conversations, ChatterBlocker may be more effective over headphones. However, prolonged headphone listening can be uncomfortable and can cause hearing fatigue. Often, ChatterBlocker can be surprisingly effective over speakers at low to moderate levels, without disturbing your neighbors.

Serial Port to MIDI Cable -- this adaptor cable will connect your PC's serial port (RS-232C) to any Roland instrument that has a "computer port." Item: 362CP6 Buying a pre-made one is far easier than making your own. If you don't want to use MIDI cables, this is the way to go. You will have to install a serial/MIDI driver for it to work.
