The purchase of a full meal plan is required for all students living on the Midtown campus and in the New Westside Residence Hall on the Westside campus. Pinney Hall and Grasso Hall do not require the meal plan, as they are full apartments with kitchens. Students in Pinney and Grasso may choose to purchase full or partial meal plans if interested.

No, KSU does not offer a meal plan with its housing at this time. At the current time, our campus is a "retail campus." In our Student Center, we have many restaurants, including Krystal, Chik-Fil-A Express, a deli, Pete's Arena Pizza, Teriyaki Chicken, and Copper Chef. Your SJC ID card is encoded with your Meal Plan and associated Puma Points. Puma Points are the declining balance part of your dining plan that allows you to purchase entire meals at the Cafeteria, or a variety of a la carte items in The HUB (Halleck Underground Bistro). Your number of points is encoded on your SJC ID card. Puma Point balances may be used from the first day of fall classes through the last day of spring finals.

Answer: Yes. All residents have an opportunity to change their meal plan from September 10-14 (or Jan 28-Feb 1)., 4 p.m. by submitting a Meal Plan Change Application. Information about meal plan changes will be included in the “Student Handbook and Weekly Planner”.

Within the application a meal plan can be changed at either the client level or globally. If you make changes on the client screen (the Meal Plan Tab) those changes will only be for the client. To find those changes select the "Previous Plans" radio button. You can see the changed plan. Now you may modify or print it. To make changes to a meal plan that will be reflected for all clients select Nutrition/Add/Edit Meal Plan from the menu.

Yes, if you live in a residence hall with standard or "suite-style" rooms, you have to participate in the meal plan program each semester. This is part of the agreement made with the bond holders of the debt service on the dining halls.

Yes. You have several options. You can purchase meals in packages of ten for a discounted rate, pay cash, or purchase Puma Points. Points work the same as a debit card; you deposit money with Dining Services to your account. This amount is encoded on your SJC ID card for your use in the HUB or Cafeteria.
