Can I mix clear into my urethane paint?

Kirker - Automotive Finishes
You may mix any of our urethane clears into the final coat of an ULTRA-GLO acrylic urethane paint job. Doing so is a quick and easy way to improve the gloss and long-term durability of the paint finish, without having to apply a full clearcoat. It should be noted that this is not as effective as applying a full clear coat. Kirker’s ULTRA-GLO acrylic urethane paint is completely compatible with all of our urethane clear products, so they will work together in any mix ratio. See similar questions...

If I have a urethane finish on my hardwood floor, can I use oil-based paint for stencils?

You can, but it may not be the best choice. Many professionals avoid working with oil-based paints because they are harder to clean up and take longer to dry. With water-based paints, smudges and spills can be wiped away easily with a damp cloth. Water-based paint can be applied over oil-or water-based urethane finishes. For best results with opaque paints, consider first applying a white primer. See similar questions...

Is it better to use black paint or to mix blacks? How do you mix black?

FAQ on Color for Artists
There are times when you might want a solid black for a specific effect, but on the whole I prefer to mix blacks for livelier color. Neutral tube colors, such as Lamp Black and Ivory Black, seem very dull, especially next to high intensity hues in a painting. It's important to use the colors in the mixture throughout the picture for the sake of harmony. One mixture that makes especially rich, transparent darks and blacks is Alizarin Crimson and Phthalo or Winsor Green. See similar questions...

Would Thermilate affect the colour of my paint when I mix it into my paint?

Thermilate doesn’t affect colours which are lighter, for example whites and creams, however if a colour is quite dark, for example dark blue, Thermilate would lighten the colour slightly. The reason for this, is because of course if you add a pouch of something white to a dark colour it will affect the colour. However, it is not a problem, simply paint a final coat of paint without Thermilate mixed in, and you’ll have the colour you want. See similar questions...

What is clear coat paint and how does it differ from conventional paint?

Gliptone: Frequently Asked Questions
The difference is in the process. Conventional paints or single stage paints, layer coats of color paint. These coats build the color, distribute the coverage, and add depth and durability to the paint surface. The exposed pigments of a single stage painted surface can be readily affected by the sun, neglect and the environment, causing oxidation. Clear Coat paint or 2 stage paint, covers the surface with a base coat, then sprays on a color coat, then finally adds layers of a "clear coat". See similar questions...

Isn't this the same as Urethane or Furniture Foam? What's the difference?

Latex - Frequently Asked Question - FloBeds.com
No, latex product is not the same as urethane or furniture foam. Urethane is a plastic. It doesn't have the longevity and resiliency of rubber. They don't make rubber bands or tires out of urethane (plastic), because urethane can't stretch and return to shape like rubber. In short, when worked, they lose resiliency and shape. The just won't give you the same comfort a year from now that they do in the showroom. See similar questions...
