WCSA100 has NO "audio in" device. The included software Webcam WatchdogX can take audio input from Windows wave device. You can use other Windows compatible 4 channel sound card to achieve 4 video and 4 audio recording with WCSA100 if you wish. Unless you need CD quality audio, otherwise using WCSA440 will be easier and cheaper than the other solution. The 440 was developed a year later after WCSA100 simply for this.

Short answer: If you want to record to an Audio and a MIDI-track simultaneously, select the Audio-track in the Arrange window, record-enable it, and then select the MIDI track while holding the Shift key. Both tracks will now be selected and record-enabled. In "recording options" (long click on the record button), ensure that "auto demix by channel if multitrack recording" is checked.

MetaSynth tells the driver to record from the default input channel(s). Some drivers have a hard-wired default while some others allow you to specify an input channel to use as the default channel. We have found that some devices let you specify a default input channel but do not actually use it. Currently, we know that the MOTU 828 does not seem to honor the default input device selected in its setup application and are working to find a solution.

You have to install the Haali Media Splitter. The stream can be switched with the A-Key or Green-Button. Don't forget to tick every supported-format checkbox (e.g. "AVI", "MKV", etc) when you install Haali's Splitter.

WMVHD files, typically created for playback on the XBOX360, can contain a 5.1 audio stream. If you play such a file on a computer that only has two speakers then you will only hear the sound from two of the six channels. This causes for example the voices (center channel) to be almost unhearable. The solution is to downmix the 5.1 channels into 2 channels. There are two ways to do this. You can either use AC3Filter or ffdshow. In ffdshow audio decoder configuration, go to the 'Codecs' page.

With the proper cables, yes. You would use the same analog cables listed above for recording to another audio device from MD, simply switch the inputs/outputs. For a computer, this would mean connecting an analog cable (usually a 1/8" male to 1/8" male miniplug cable) between your MD unit's line out to your sound card's line in.

Yes. But you must have a GUIDE Plus+ unit with more than one tuner, or you can use a splitter (Y-piece) and connect your GUIDE Plus+ unit and your TV separately. With a splitter you can connect one end to your TV and one end to your GUIDE Plus+ unit.

KODAK CD-R Digital Audio Gold media can be used for any storage application, however here are two precautions: This media is targeted for use on consumer audio recorders that typically record at low speed (1X - 2X). Kodak does not recommend recording on this media at speeds faster than 4X. Some authoring software and drive firmware will refuse to record anything but audio on Digital Audio CD-R media.

DJ-1800 doesn't include a record feature at the moment. However, there are two pieces of software which enable you to record DJ-1800's output (and indeed any other application's output) to a file. These are WireTap Pro from Ambrosia Software, and Audio Hijack Pro, from Rogue Amoeba Software. Note that we don't provide support for either program - but they're useful, so we like to tell people about them.

If you can hook up your audio source to the mic jack on your computer you can record easily that way. Most audio devices will be able to connect that way -- usually with a simple audio cable connected from the "Headphones" or "Speaker" jack on the audio device to the mic jack on the computer.

Connect the recorder to the earphone jack on the other device with a connecting cord. For recording monaural sound, use the optional connecting cord, KA232 and, for stereo sound, use a commercially available connecting cord with attenuation resistance. Note that every audio I/O device has its own timing system. These devices must round and approximate time units. When recording a device that keeps a BPM tempo you may notice the tempo lags between this recorded device and the Acoustic Labs Multitrack Plus's metronome - especially when you get past a few minutes of recording time. This is due to the rounding approximation. This will be more likely to occur with lower quality audio devices.

MIDI is not sound. You can't simply press the Bounce button on an output object, and expect the external synth's sound to magically turn up in your final song. MIDI is a series of commands to your MIDI devices, which then may produce the desired sound/audio. In order to have this sound included when you bounce the song to a final audiofile, you can do two things. First of all, feed the sounding results of the synths - via an external mixer or directly - into audio inputs of your soundcard.
