Not usually. Study abroad stories usually end with a lesson about how much the writer learned about other cultures. These “morals” are often trite and should be generally avoided. While these types of topics might have worked well for your college application essays, or even for law school, graduate school applicants should avoid the fluffy personal commentaries. You’ve got to be more focused.

For any courses you wish to take abroad, you must obtain an application form from the Study Abroad office and follow the procedure for submitting that form.

You must be an AMDP major and have a 2.2 unadjusted GPA to take classes in the AMDP program. You must also sign a list in 308 Spidle to enroll in these classes. (This rule does not apply to CAHS 1600 and CAHS 2000.)

Many European universities also operate with ECTS credits, so it is easier than ever before to spend a semester or a year in a different university. Your programme of study at another university will be part of an approved partnership with UCD, therefore the modules you study and the marks you get will be combined with those modules you studied at UCD.

There are several programs that are available during the summer, however, please be advised that these costs are separate from your regular academic year tuition costs.

There are a series of pre-departure orientation meetings that all students going abroad are strongly encouraged to attend. In those meetings, a strong foundation will be set by means of returning students' accounts, literature on pertinent topics, and guest speakers from various departments (i.e. Financial Aid and Housing).

That depends. Studying abroad can be as inexpensive or as expensive as you make it. If you are a SAWA student (your school has a partnership agreement with Vesalius), tuition and fees will depend on your home institution. Students should meet with a career services counselor to discuss their options and receive a Study Abroad Packet. Once the student has chosen a program they should obtain a program application - this can be done on-line or requested by phone. At the same time, the student should also complete the Curry College application for the Registrar's Office which is located in the study abroad packet.

While there is basically freedom to go wherever you want to go, you need to choose from a list of schools that are affiliated with DHU. Even though we recommend all students to participate in the study abroad program in order to make new friends, have an international experience and develop foreign language ability, a program where students can continue to study domestically will be provided as well.

MSU offers short-term study programs led by faculty during the summer. Options and study sites change each year. Stop by the resource center for information on these programs or for information on programs offered by universities around the world.

All of the universities have a broad range of course offerings, but some universities have restrictions on certain divisions. For instance, a business or engineering or pre-med student might not find space available at an overseas university for their particular distribution requirements. Before making a course selection, all students must study the offerings at the host university, and consult with their academic advisor to assure that they will meet their requirements for credit.

You should stop by or call the Marist Abroad Office to pick up some literature for the program that you are interested in or to speak with someone about any questions or concerns that you may have.
