How can I recycle: Glass, Plastic, Paper, Aluminum, Scrap Metal?

FAQ
Glass is a widely recycled item. Unbroken containers are the best, and clear glass is the most valuable. Do not recycle: Pyrex, ceramics, mirrors, light bulbs, plate glass, or tableware. Broken glass is difficult and dangerous to sort. Plastic containers should be marked with a recycling code in the form of a number. The most widely accepted plastics are numbers 1 and 2. Some areas also restrict plastic based on its shape or color. See similar questions...

Solar Cooking Frequently-Asked Questions
People generally report that glass provides about 10% better performance than plastic. And there is reason to believe that under windy conditions, glass is preferred since it doesn't flap in the wind and dissipate heat from the cooker. Plastic, however, is often recommended since is much less fragile and easier to transport and works plenty well. One excellent, easily-obtained plastic film is oven cooking bags. These are for sale in grocery stores and cost less than US$1 per bag. See similar questions...

What is the Difference Between Silica on Glass, Plastic, or Aluminum Backing?

EMD Chemicals Inc., Lab Chemicals, Lab Reagents, MSDS, CoAs,...
The only difference in these products is the thickness. The flexible supports (aluminum or plastic) are made a little thinner (0.2mm vs 0.25 on glass). This does not affect the performance at all. The advantage of these layers is that they can be cut either to allow using only what is needed, or after development they allow the spots to be cut from the rest of the plate. This can be done with scissors or a razor blade. See similar questions...

Why is ZEVIA® packaged in aluminum cans instead of glass bottles?

ZEVIA Frequently Asked Questions
Aluminum cans are better on the environment than glass bottles. For example, making cans from recycled aluminum cuts related air pollution by 95%, whereas making glass from recycled materials reduces air pollution by only 20%. Aluminum is much lighter than glass to ship and consequently reduces stress on the environment, such as gas required to fuel trucks, materials necessary to handle the load of glass, and extra emissions from freight vehicles due to weight. It depends. Even though plastic tanks are a bit cheaper and come in a variety of shapes, they are prone to scratch marks, even those made by a Pleco or any other sucker-mouthed catfish. Glass tanks tend to be slightly more expensive but are stronger and often tanks that are fifty-five gallons and above are only made in glass. Glass is more scratch resistant than plastic and can withstand a greater amount of water pressure in a deeper tank. See similar questions...
