Technically speaking, we fly sailplanes but the terms gilder and sailplane are often interchanged. We think of a "glider" as having a glide ration of less than 20:1. This means for every foot that it goes down, it goes 20 feet forward. There are sailplanes with glide ratios of over 60:1. The highest glide ratio in our fleet is the Stemme Motorglider with a glide ratio of 50:1.

Gliders are planes that glide down to earth without power. A good example might be a WW2 troop glider. It's not designed to catch or ride thermals and climb, just to be released from its tow plane and glide down to earth. The space shuttle in its landing mode would be another example. Almost, they have L/D' around 14:1 and exhibit excellent glide ratios due to very light wing loading. However they are a bit too draggy, bumpy, with not enough penetration speed to be called a true sailplane. Despite that, many hours have been spent soaring. See similar questions...

This depends almost entirely on how much time your (and your family/household members) will be spending with the Sugar Glider and the emotional make up of your glider. Gliders are social animals and need interaction or they can grow lonely and get depressed and even sick. The limiting factor is your bladder! By using the weather, sailplanes have flown over 1,500 miles and climbed to almost 50,000 feet. Our rides are approximately 20, 30 or 40 minutes long. The game itself detects the software by searching memory, your hard drive, window titles, or some other means. The current version of Glider (1.5.1 August 27, 2007) is not known to be detected by these methods. However, it is technically possible for Blizzard to change their detection scheme, if they come up with a new way to detect Glider. Even if your glider is made from Water-repellent fabric, try not to pack your glider when wet! This could damage fabric characteristics (especially its stability) and support mildew genesis. If there's no other way then dry it as soon as possible but away from direct sunlight. Don't let your glider come into contact with sea water. It is not necessary in most states to have any type of permit or license to have a sugar glider as a pet. However I have heard of places wear there may be restrictions so check out any city ordinances or state laws to be sure. To the best of my knowledge having a Sugar Glider is not legal in California, Georgia or Massachusetts. Further, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin seam to have at least some area (city or county) that does not allow ownership or sale of Gliders. See similar questions...
