any point during the processing period, you can use your PIN to check the status of your FAFSA or to check on a correction you made to your FAFSA: Click on the first item in the right-hand column (under "FAFSA Follow-up"): "Check status of a submitted FAFSA or print Signature Page." Read the Check Status page, click on "Next" at the bottom of the page, then enter the information required.

You can check your application status online. Only electronic filers, however, can make corrections to their information on that site. If you filed a paper FAFSA, you must include the postcard that comes with it. The Department of Education will stamp the postcard with the date your FAFSA was received and mail the postcard back to you. They will process your FAFSA within four weeks from the date you mail it. Then, you will receive a SAR in the mail.

Applicants can check their application status by logging on to the SDSU WebPortal at www.sdsu.edu/portal using your RedID number, and clicking on the "Admission Status" option. Official notification of admission is through the "Admission Status" in the WebPortal and through a letter mailed to address on file on your WebPortal account. Make sure to update your contact information if your postal or e-mail address changes.

You may call to check your status anytime at (415) 338-2234 or check on-line by going to: https://www.sfsu.edu/online/appstat.htm. You will need to provide your SFSU student ID number and a personal access code (PAC). Your SFSU ID number will have been provided to you by email after you submitted an on-line application. The website gives first time users specific instructions for setting up a PAC number.

The FAFSA is available from the Financial Aid Office or the Admissions office at NIACC, from your high school guidance office, or at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

For the 2007-2008 school year, submit your application as early as possible, but no earlier than January 1, 2007. We must have your application no later June 30, 2008. Your college must have your correct, complete information by your last day of enrollment in the 2007-2008 school year.

The Applicant Home page will list all of the applications you have begun or have already submitted. The grid that is displayed has a column titled "Status" which displays the status of your application. When a user places the mouse over the status, some text will appear and provide a definition. Some of the statuses and their meaning include: Application Incomplete ? application is incomplete and must be updated and then resubmitted.

During application, your loan officer is available to answer your questions and offer advice. Once your loan is in process, your underwriter can provide you with status updates and any additional information you may require.

If you applied online, you can check the status of your application on the web site. To do this, go to www.ingdirect.ca and click on the "I'm a Client, let me in" button in the top navigation bar. Enter your Client Number and PIN. The account summary page will appear.

Candidates who have submitted their application online can follow the status of their application using their login information. All useful information is given in the application form. For candidates using the paper form, no possiblity of follow up exists. The Admission office does not give any information on the phone.
