It is possible for a connection to be established under such operating systems. We, however, do not support any such installation or configuration and will not be able to help you out if you experience any problems.

Which operating system you decide to use should depend on what features you need. For example, if you are already using IIS, ASP, VBScript, Windows Media, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, or Visual InterDev, and you don't have the time to learn Unix-based solutions, you'll have to choose a Windows NT or Windows 2000-based host. Just because your desktop is Windows-based doesn't mean you should use a Windows host.

DriveCopy supports FAT, HPFS, FAT32, and NTFS, as well as Linux partitions. UNIX and NetWare are not supported. Internal disk location references on unsupported partitions on the source hard drive will be unmodified on the target hard drive. For this reason, unsupported partitions may not boot or otherwise be accessible on the target hard drive. In any case, the partitions and the data on the source hard drive remain intact.

The FreeBSD passwd utility changes the user’s local, Kerberos, or NIS password. Unfortunately, no. Flight Simulator uses Microsoft's DirectPlay (part of DirectX) for all of the game communication, so that's what FSHost uses to talk to it. Unfortunately DirectPlay is a proprietary system, and so far hasn't been ported to the Unix environment. (There are some systems such as WINE that have made attempts, but so far I don't believe anyone's gotten it to work completely yet.) I'd love to build a Unix version though, so maybe one day we'll be able to.
