Yes. You may take an undergraduate, non-professional course if you meet the pre-requisite requirements and if room is available in the class. Fully matriculated students receive priority enrollment. To enroll in a graduate or professional course, you must obtain prior approval from the dean of students or department chair. A matriculated student is a student who has filed an application to be admitted to a degree or certificate program, has been officially accepted, and has registered for the specific term for which he or she has been accepted. Matriculated students may attend on a full-time or part-time basis. A non-matriculated student is one who has enrolled in one, but no more than two credit courses, and has not been admitted as a degree or certificate candidate in any program within the college.

Matriculated students are those who have applied, been accepted, and enrolled in a degree program of the University during the semester for which they were admitted. Completion of course credits before becoming a matriculated student does not assure acceptance of those credits into the program of matriculation. You can take up to a total of nine to twelve total credits before having to apply to a Program. Additional non-matric coursework would need to be approved by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research. The number depends on the number of credits in the program. It is generally 30%.

When we have officially enrolled you in a course, you will be contacted by mail. If registration requests are submitted before the quarter starts, most students are enrolled in open courses during the first three days of the quarter. If a course is closed, we will attempt to enroll you through the tenth day of the quarter. All enrollments must be finalized by the tenth day of the quarter. If we have not been able to enroll you by then, you will be issued a full refund.
