Numerous programs are used to make websites, but I use Adobe Photoshop CS to design my website, Dreamweaver 4.0 to code it, and CuteFTP to upload it to my server.

Initially, I made the website to share my pictures with my relatives and friends. Then I started getting emails from people interested in going on Semester@Sea. Building the site is done in Macromedia Dreamweaver. The photos are taken digitally with a Sony Mavica or an Olympus. The photos are then resized in Adobe Photoshop. After a long search, I found NOP's Free Shopping Cart to be the best choice for my needs. Dreamweaver Fever happened to have a script that was perfect for the large product photo popups. Atomz Search ended up being my search engine only because it was easy to use, gave search stats, and most importantly was free.

Adobe ImageReady, sometimes version 3.0 and sometimes CS. I use it mainly because it has layers and transparency, the ability to save good-quality web images, and it can animate if that's what I want to do, all in one program.

All of the HTML and PHP in Starlight Pops is hand-coded by me, using good old Notepad. I use both The Gimp (freeware) and Paint Shop Pro (expensive) for making graphics. The only other thing I really use is FTP Surfer (more freeware) for uploading stuff, and that's it.

Sure! We provide the necessary FrontPage extensions, but do look at the hosting comparisons. Linux and Windows are both support4d, but Windows is a bit better if you use FrontPage.
