During the time of ovulation, an egg is available to be fertilized for only about 12-24 hours. But since sperm can live in the body for 3-5 days and then the egg is available for one day, your most fertile time is considered to be about 5-7 days.

Ovulation is the release of an egg by the woman's ovary. In almost every menstrual cycle, the woman's ovary releases an egg. There are thousands of eggs inside the woman's ovaries. The natural chemicals in her body trigger the development of one of these eggs every cycle. When the egg is ready to be fertilized, it comes out of the ovary and travels down the woman's tubes to her uterus. If the man's sperm has fertilized it, the egg can attach itself to the uterus and the woman is pregnant.

Unlike pregnancy tests, morning is not the ideal time to take ovulation tests, as LH is synthesized in your body early in the morning. It will not show up in urine until later in the day. The ideal time to test is in the afternoon, around 2pm, though testing may safely take please from 10am to early evening.

To increase the chance of conception, it is best to have intercourse the day of the LH surge as well as following three days after. A faint line (or a faint positive test band) does not indicate a positive result for an LH surge. While the presence of a faint line on a pregnancy test may indicate a positive result, a faint line on an OPK is always negative. This happens due to hormonal changes. Drink a lot ofwater, at least ten glasses a day. And keep your face oil/grease free. I have fairly brown skin. I was a athlete in my younger days. Due to jogging and exercises there was rubbing of the skin and hence the inner thighs have blackened a bit. I would want to know if there is any way that i can make my skin lighter there. Are there any home remedies.. please suggest.. Thanks.

The day you start your menstrual period is "day 1". Around "day 14" you may ovulate and release an egg. That egg is viable for about 24 hours.
