Error messages like 'Error in pixel box server' or similar can nearly always be cleared by closing your browser and then relaunching it. If this does not clear the fault, please contact our support desk.

If you're using an older printer (especially Hewlett-Packard printers), the printer software may not be able to handle newer printing commands. Visit the web site of the printer manufacturer (like http://www.hp.com for Hewlett-Packard), and download the latest software for your printer. This will usually fix printing problems you may experience. If you're using Mac OS X, make sure you're using the Mac OS X version of Gradekeeper.

This typically happens if you are accessing the page by a "bookmark" or if you are using a MAC/Safari browser. Try typing the Open URL (http://www.pxsweb.com/customer/home.srv) or Secure URL (https://www.pxsweb.com/customer/home.srv).

The exact error message looks like Could not find USB device (vendor 0x0000, product 0x0000). Make sure this device is connected to the computer You have to set up the permissions on your USB device correctly. See Section 4.3, "Setting up permissions for USB ports".

This message means that your database is used in a single-user mode and it cannot be accessed only by the creator and SYSDBA. To switch to the multi-user mode, you need to publish your database. I've registered the DB, but on trying to open it the the following message appears "client library you've selected wasn't found in your system". You receive this error message because the program can not find the client library that is essential to establish a connection with the server.

The most likely cause of this is that you haven't yet downloaded and installed the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1. Nearly all of the new software DataDevil produces now uses the .NET framework and it may not already be installed on your computer. Please also check you have downloaded the file before trying to run it, otherwise you may encounter a security error. If you are having a different problem, please contact us with a detailed description and we will be pleased to assist.

If you are receiving an error message such as, "There is no catalog" or "The Service is not running" please report this problem immediately to us using the Get Help! form. This is a problem with the indexed catalog of our site and will need to be prepared before any searches can be run on the site.

Enter the correct SMTP server. (Please note that web based email usually does not allow you to use their server. For example you may not use Hotmail, AOL or Yahoo mail to name a few.). Some servers require a username and password to send the mail. Contact your email provider to see if they are needed. Most often the user name and password are the same that you use to receive mail. If you do not remember them please contact your email provider.

Getting "The page cannot be displayed" error after submitting an answer may happen consistently or occasionally. The page cannot be displayed" indicates that your browser cannot connect to our exam engine. This could be caused by anything from temporary loss of Internet connectivity to improperly configured proxies and firewalls. If you get this error in the middle of an exam you will need to click the refresh button to reload the page.

The exact message looks like *** Error ('Could not claim the USB device') *** Could not claim interface 0 (Operation not permitted). Make sure no other program or kernel module (e.g. dc2xx or stv680) is using the device and you have read/write access to the device. You have to make sure that no such kernel module is loaded and that you have set up the permissions on your USB device correctly, such that you have (non-root) write access to the camera device.

Search the Cygwin/X mailing list archives to see if the error message has already been reported and/or addressed. Report the error message to the Cygwin/X mailing list, how the error message was caused, and the behavior of the X Server after the error message was generated (exit, freeze, etc.

That error message means that the time setting is incorrect, by at least 12 hours, on the computer on which the client or server is running. You should check and reset the system clock. We believe no security risks could be introduced, because handle servers provide a limited handle lookup and administration service that is constrained to the handle database. There have been no vulnerabilities found or security-related bugs reported in the software in over 8 years.
