The easiest way is to use Texas Instruments' software called "TI-Connect" along with a link cable (either USB or Serial). Newly bought calculators now come with both of these items, but they can be obtained separately - the cable can be bought from most retailers, whilst the TI-Connect software can be downloaded free from TI's website. Short answer: You shouldn't worry much, and it's very unlikely, if not impossible, for a program to ruin the calculator. But you should read this section for information on how to reduce the already small chance of crashes causing problems for you. A 'crash' is a serious failure of an asm program. This occurs when a program causes the calculator to stop working, or corrupts the memory of the calculator.

The graphing calculator has a lithium battery, which serves to maintain memory when the AAA batteries are removed. Memory will be conserved as long as both the lithium battery and the AAA batteries are not removed at the same time. TI recommends that the Lithium battery be replaced every 3-4 years.

The memory chip in the calculator is large enough to store many more equations that the user can input as needed. However, there is a limit on the number of labels that can be used for the larger programs. The programs installed use approximately 70% of the available labels, so additional programming capacity is limited.

This depends upon which exam is being taken, as well as the actual exam content, which can vary from one exam season to the next. Some questions do not require programs or any type of calculations. the calculator programs are designed primarily to help with the questions that require longer calculations, or a combination of short calculation steps. Many candidates have reported using more than half of the programs during the exam, and some of the programs may be applicable to multiple questions.
