Yes, if you are not invited to interview with the MSTP, your application will be returned to the main Admissions Office to be included with the medical school general applicant pool for screening and interview consideration. Yes, we can accept a copy of the score reports for the initial review of the file. The reports can be faxed, mailed, or scanned and emailed to dgs@cheme.cornell.edu. If you are accepted into the program, you will have plenty of time to provide official scores to us.

First we look at the applications on their individual merit. We look at all of the materials and try to arrive at an accurate portrait of the applicant that includes experience, the breadth of previous coursework and recommendations. We do see scores and GPAs in all ranges. In general, however, competitive GRE scores will be in the 600s for the verbal section, in the 600s for the quantitative section, and 5 or above (on a 6-point scale) for the writing section. Competitive GPAs will be 3.
