We manufacture the majority of our products with 6 Lb polyurethane foam typical to that which is used by other major polyurethane suppliers of architectural mouldings. If you were to hammer a nail through one of our mouldings, it would be similar to hammering through a piece of soft pine. The mouldings do come with a white primer coating on them that will provide ultraviolet light protection during installation. Many exterior paints now contain some level of protection from the sun's rays.

Low density polyurethane foamThere are three primary categories for polyurethane foam, with the lowest level labeled as low density polyurethane foam. Low density foam refers to the concentration of polyurethane within the material, and lower concentrations create a lower density. This type of foam is typically recommended for items that experience infrequent use, such as an outdoor cushion, an infrequently used custom mattress, and certain types of furniture cushion.

Medium density polyurethane foamMedium density polyurethane foam is a medium quality foam that is best used in moderately priced furniture including sofas, chairs and certain types of outdoor furniture. It can also be used as the base in certain types of custom mattresses, or as a base to provide support for higher quality foams like memory foam and latex foam. Medium density foam tends to fall between the high 1.8 pound range to just under a 3lb range.

High density / High resilience polyurethane foamHigh density foams are usually required for more extreme everyday use. When living room furniture such as a favorite couch or chair needs to be upgraded, high density polyurethane foams are the way to go. High density foam refers to a density weight from 2lbs to 3lbs with varying firmness ratings in between. This type of foam has a softer surface, greater comfort and support, and can last for years beyond what lower density foam can sustain.

Our timber is primarily sourced from the high density region of Nelson which also has the highest average tree age in NZ. New Zealand pine exhibits variations in wood density related to the locality in which it is grown, genetic make-up, silvicultural treatment, the part of the tree from which the wood comes and age at harvest. Density is correlated to important qualities such as timber strength, machining and finishing properties.

Other floor covering materials simply can't compare to the natural beauty of hardwood flooring. Hardwood floors outperform and outlast almost any other floor covering material. Natural, Renewable and Eco - Friendly, wood floors donot involve quarrying, blasting, mining or heavy chemical processes, and hence are more earth friendly than most other flooring materials

Look at Penofin's blotter tests. Penofin wood stains penetrate better than anything on the market. It is the only product with Brazilian Rosewood Oil. Penofin is one of the few products on the market containing transoxide pigments, the colorant developed to give automobiles their tough finish.

Glass fiber batts will not stop air leakage (it might filter out some dirt and dust). Blown-in cellulose will slow down air leakage. Spray polyurethane foam will stop air leakage . . . dead. Glass fiber batts have an R-value of about 3.5 (1-inch thickness). Blown-in cellulose has an R-value of about 3 to 4 (1-inch thickness). Spray applied polyurethane foam has an R-value of 7 (1-inch thickness). Thus, 3 inches of Dwyer's foam would yield an R-value of 21.

The technical requirements for medium density spray polyurethane foam is outlined in the CAN/ULC S705.1 Material Standard. The physical properties are: Initial Thermal Resistance - 50mm sample after a minimum of 2 d and a maximum of 14 d at 23 ±2°C Note 1: The test methods used to determine the material properties provide a means of comparing different cellular plastic thermal insulations. They are intended for use in specifications, product evaluations and quality control.

Polyurethane is a term used to describe a wide ranging family of elastomers (any compound exhibiting the characteristics of natural rubber; stretchy and elastic.). Poly meaning "many" and "urethane" the classification of the chemical structure. Polyurethane or urethane for short, is used as a solid cast material (bushings). Polyurethane can be as soft as a rubber band or as hard as plastic.

Naturally red to reddish brown in appearance and can be returned to the original appearance after turning gray with a minimum effort.

Wood flooring is comparable in cost to tiles, and wood floor laminates are less than the cost of tiling! Also, temperatures between wood floors and tiled floors are different. Wood floors layered with vapor barriers are as warm as the room during winter. Tiles are not. Wood floors outlast carpets, and they offer additional benefits for the extra investment. The first is the durability of a wood floor.

RooWood™ is an aliphatic PVA glue which tests equal to other popular wood glues. It often excels in tack and cure time.

The exterior Chofu heater has many advantages over submerged inside-the-tub heaters such as the Snorkel Stove. Inside heaters take up up to 1/3 of the interior space of your tub. The Chofu does not. Inside heaters prevent the use of a full coverage insulated top so heat is lost. The Chofu heated tub can use a full coverage thermal blanket and cover so less heat is lost. The water level can be set much lower to eliminate wasted overflow.

StoneDeck™ is a permanent surface that does not have the maintenance and deterioration issues associated with wood surfaces. The long-lasting components can handle the harshest climate conditions.

The density refers to how thick the hair is and what density you order is really based on personal choice. Most women achieve a natural appearance with light to medium or medium density; however, your choice will depend on your styling preferences and individual profile.

The heartwood of naturally durable species such as western red cedar, yellow cypress and white cedar will all resist decay to some degree, but it is variable. The amount and type of natural fungi-toxic chemicals deposited in the heartwood determine how durable the wood is. The sapwood of all species is considered non-durable. Heartwood of second growth may be less durable than the best of the old growth but probably less variable.

First of all, our buildings are constructed from steel making them stronger than wood. Steel construction also adds other benefits such as fire resistancy, easy maintenance, cleaning, and the ability to weather the elements better than wood.

Lexite™ performs exactly like wood for pallet assembly and repair and can be cut to size and nailed or glued onto existing pallets or used to make new pallets.
