Because of limited storage space, not all of our branches accept donations at this time. It is best to call or visit your local branch library beforehand. If you would like to donate a book or other materials in memory of or in honor of a loved one, please visit your local branch library for a "Gifts to the Library" form.

The library gratefully accepts donations of books and audio-visual materials. Donations are reviewed by library staff and are either added to the library's collection or offered for sale at the Library Book Sale, generally held in the spring. Proceeds from the book sales are used to support the collections and services of the library. Gifts may be dropped off at any time at the library's Technical Processing Department.

The library accepts donations of books except for the following: magazines, Reader’s Digest condensed books, textbooks or encyclopedias which are older than 10 years, or books damaged by mold, water, insects, or damaged beyond repair. No, I am sorry I cannot. Many times, I do not own the book you want or I only have one copy that is used to continue research for this site. I am not a book publisher nor a published author. I do not have access to free books. I purchase the books I use or borrow them from my local library.

The North Grenville Public Library does accept book donations from the public. Books must be in good condition, paperback and hardcover. We do not accept manuals, text books, computer texts or damaged/moldy materials. The Library reserves the right to add donated books to our collection or to sell them in our ongoing books sales. The Library also reserves the right to discard book donations. Books should be dropped off at the South Gower Branch of the library.

Many people like to donate their unwanted books to the library. We are grateful for this support, but please note that we can only add items to our stock that are in good condition.

Our patrons are encouraged to suggest books and other materials for the library by filling out a "Materials Request Card," available at any branch library and the Bookmobile. If you are a local author, you may forward titles of your newest releases or reprints to us, but they must be accompanied with two (2) citations of or copies of reviews from major sources, i.e. Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus, Library Journal, etc.

Our gently used slings and pouches, available in our Maya Outlet, are returns we have received from customers who either needed a different size, wanted a different color or exchanged for another reason. The inventory of the gently used slings and pouches varies widely from day to day and for this reason we cannot offer a fabric selection. However our gently used slings and pouches have the same 90 day return policy as our new carriers.
