Note: I use Alcohol 120% as my backup program for ripping scratched originals. DVD Decrypter can be picky with scratched discs, even when set to ignore read errors. This gets asked a lot and it's simple. Cheap media doesn't fail with every game, just with some. It'd be easy to detect if it failed 80% of the time. That's not how it works. It tends to fail with certain games more than others. Cheap media like CMC Mag degrades over time, wears down your PS2 laser, and is more likely to skip, fail to boot, or lag after six months to a year.
