The Security code (CCV - Card Code Verification or CIC - Card Identification Code) is the last three digits of the code on the back signature line of a Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card. It is also the 4 digit code on the front of an American Express Card. This code is required to make an online purchase. This code tells our bank that you have the card in your possession as it is verified with the processing center as a form of fraud protection.

For Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards, the number is located on the back of your card near the top of the signature box. The number is the last 3 digits on the row of numbers. For American Express cards, the number is located on the front of your card, on the right hand side above your card number. The number on American Express cards is four digits long.

As an added security measure, we ask that you enter your Card Security Code number when making purchases from Addgene. The Card Security Code is NOT your PIN. To ensure your security when you purchase tickets on nwa.com, you will need to enter your Credit Card's Security Code. This is a three or four digit number that is printed on your card.
