It depends upon the diaphragm loads and if they are needed for erection (see Girder-Slab typical details). Consult with your local hollow core supplier for availability of weld plates, alternative details may be suggested that will meet the engineer's requirements. One method is that the hollow core supplier provides these cut outs in the factory and then provides a core plug to stop the grout from flowing too far into the cell.

Connections are required in hollowcore slab systems for a variety of reasons. Most are for localized forces. Connections are an expense to a project and, if used improperly, may have detrimental effects by not accommodating volume changes or other movements that occur in a precast structure. Connections may develop forces as they restrain these movements. In specifying connections, the actual forces must be addressed. If no force can be shown to exist, the connection should not be used.

The surface must be clean and structurally sound. Dust, dirt, oil, grease, wax, loose paint, efflorescence, rust, mildew, and other foreign material must be completely removed. Weld-Crete® may be painted over painted surfaces provided the paint is still well secured to the substrate.

Solid boards, usually ?" thick and 3" to 8" wide designed to be installed in parallel rows. Edges may be beveled to simulate the appearance of Colonial American plank floors.

When welding in a floor and tunnel, use a rosette weld about 3" to 4" apart. It is not necessary to weld the entire edge of a floor. This will cause severe warpage (too much heat). When welding in a firewall, weld back through the holes you drilled to remove the stock firewall. DO NOT START ON ONE SIDE AND WELD ALL THE WAY TO THE OTHER SIDE.

Openings may be provided in hollowcore systems by forming openings in the plant, by installing steel headers, by shoring and saw cutting, or by cutting after a deck is installed and grouted. In laying out openings for a project, the least structural effect will be obtained by orienting an opening parallel to a span, or by coring small holes to cut the fewest prestressing strands. opening greater than 2' x 2' should be cast into 8'-0" wide hollowcore plank.

If you damage a plank during installation, replace it immediately. If it is a glued floor, be quick and remove all traces of glue down the groove with a damp cloth wrapped over the end of a screw driver. We find this works a treat. Be patient, and take your time, but remove every last smidgen of glue. If it is a clik system, we would recommend removing the whole row. Removing each plank and putting the damaged plank to one side and then continuing.

Strip plank is a building method normally used for canoes and kayaks. When building with strip plans canoe you glue together long slender wooden strips over a skeletal or template that has the desired hull shape. Once all the strips are assembled the hull is faired and covered outside and inside with fiberglass fabric and epoxy resin.

A treated 2" x 8" board that acts as a nailing surface for wall sheathing at ground level of Lester buildings.

Each CCD camera has a different specification for important parameters such as optical distance to the CCD chip and camera faceplate mount. Even different models from the same manufacturer may place the CCD chip at a different depths within the camera head even though the physical mount is the same (i.e. cameras using a T-mount thread).

Be sure that all four corners are tied to the vehicle frame. Each frame bracket must be bolted to the vehicle frame with two bolts, unless optional weld is used. These instructions are guidelines only, actual installation is the responsibility of the installer and the owner. Either way is acceptable. If the you choose to have the brackets welded to the frame, Reese requires the brackets to be welded by a certified welder.

This is not a skill everyone can acquire. Thin stainless can be spot-welded which is suitable for the combustion chamber and case. The NGV assembly will require MIG or TIG welding. TIG sets are expensive and it may be necessary to find a specialist welder used to welding stainless steel to do the welding for you. Modern engines employ a casting for the NGV which is more stable during natural heat cycling.

It will weld thin metals like automotive sheet metals with minimal warpage up to ½ inch (optional tips may be required) A MIG or stick welder will do thicker 3/16 – ½ materials faster, but if you only have the Henrob it will do it just not as fast as the electric welders.
