The Gore-Tex membrane has 9 billion pores per square inch, with each pore 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet. These tiny holes are too small for water and wind to pass through from the outside, which is how Gore can guarantee you'll stay dry and warm in a garment made with Gore-Tex fabric.

Waterproof/breathable materials have membranes with microscopic holes which are great at keeping water out, but they breathe and move moisture vapor out of the footwear at a much slower rate than nylon or nylon-mesh. No, this is a myth! Salt molecules are far too large to fit into the tiny holes in the GORE-TEX? membrane. If you don't wash all the saltwater off your garment after a trip to the ocean the remaining salt on the face fabric will attract moisture (so rinse it off!), but GORE-TEX? will breathe when the face fabric is completely saturated (even underwater).

We have left ColicCalm's rich dark color as Mother Nature intended, without any "pretty" coloring to alter its purity and efficacy. While the microfine particles of vegetable charcoal do not contain any dye, they can get lodged between fabric fibers and may require gentle manipulation to loosen. This is why we have included a staining warning on bottle and box. We do find that stains/spots lift out easily with any of the spray stain removers.
