It is cut into pieces of appropriate size, which are wrapped in paper to avoid rapid evaporation and then placed around the package of the ice cream inside an insulated packer or in a single service type packer.

Smaller concentrations can cause quicker breathing but is otherwise not harmful.

To ensure that your product arrives frozen we ship with 5lbs. of dry ice. In most instances, the dry ice will have evaporated or partially evaporated by the time you receive the product. However, if your box does contain some dry ice, do not touch the ice with your bare hands. Use tongs, insulated (thick) gloves or an oven mitt and dispose of the ice outside. Do not let dry ice evaporate in your home or in a confined space. Crack windows open if the ice remains in your home for a period of time.

If Dry ice is the ONLY hazard, the package must be labeled with a Class 9 label along with the net weight of the dry ice within the package. No Dangerous Goods Declaration Form is required but the dry ice must be declared on the courier's airway bill in accordance with the company's requirements, which may or may not also include documenting the net weight of the dry ice.
